Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone, more popularly known as ConcernedApe, tweeted on July 18, 2023, mentioning stuff that’s slated to be released in the upcoming 1.6 update of his hit game, Stardew Valley. Fans of this farm-sim indie darling are more than excited for 1.6, and this new tweet from CA has shot up their excitement by quite a lot.
The last major update that Stardew Valley received was back in December 2020. 1.5 introduced a new farm layout called Beach Farm and a new region named Ginger Island, along with new items, quests, music tracks, and whatnot! It was a banger of an update and made fans more appreciative of ConcernedApe and his dedication to Stardew Valley. And with 1.6 coming soon, we have got to talk about what we know so far.
Stardew Valley Update 1.6 will bring new festival, new items, dialogues, secrets & more
The following tweet from ConcernedApe confirms that Stardew Valley will be getting new items, dialogues, secrets, and festivals in the upcoming 1.6 update. There might be a lot more, but for now, ConcernedApe is keeping those details to himself.

-secrets

New dialogues will certainly add more to the lore of the valley, its people, and the game itself. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see more items, and something like a tractor would be a godsend for many players. But these are all player wishes and nothing more. The upcoming months will certainly be exciting for Stardew Valley fans as we get more details on 1.6.
What Else?
While we wait for CA to reveal more information about 1.6, there’s a good amount of stuff we are already aware of. The biggest of all is that, unlike the previous 1.5 update, the upcoming 1.6 update will be a lot less ambitious in scope. Put simply, it will be a minor update. In a tweet on April 16, CA stated that the 1.6 update will be more focused on mod support. There will still be some content drop for the game, but 1.6 in large part will be released to make modding easier for modders.
There is going to be a Stardew 1.6 update. It's mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod). But there is also new game content, albeit much less than 1.5. I'm taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on this at the moment. Then back to HC

In another tweet on May 31, 2023, CA tweeted: – Iridium scythe. And this tweet more or less confirms that players will be able to get an Iridium-level scythe in the game. Currently, there are only two: the Basic Scythe and the Gold Scythe. This hasn’t been confirmed or anything, but there are chances of it being added in the 1.6 update.

In addition to that, a Twitter user asked about Hat Mouse getting a house upgrade “to protect him from bad weather”. CA promptly replied that he would take that idea into consideration. So, whether Hat Mouse will get his house upgraded in 1.6 or not is a mystery that can only be solved once update 1.6 goes live or CA tweets more on this matter.
That's a nice idea, I'll take it into consideration

For now, this is all we know about the upcoming 1.6 update of Stardew Valley. ConcernedApe has been particularly busy with his next game, Haunted Chocolatier, for quite some time and took a break from its development in April of this year to focus on the release of the 1.6 update for Stardew Valley. While it’s not confirmed, we do believe that this will most likely be the last update for the game. Do note that this is just speculation from our side, so take it with a pinch of salt.
