Space Engineers, the open-world sandbox title from Keen Software House, continues to receive active support from the developers. Released back in 2019, it just received its latest major update called Signal, which added a bunch of new content and gameplay improvements. Players are certainly having fun, although there are some issues that many would love to get rid of. One of them is the script not showing issue.
For the uninitiated, scripts add automatic interactions to the game. Players can download them from the Steam Workshop and even make one if they want to do so. There are a ton of great scripts available for download and many use them for various purposes, mostly related to quality-of-life purposes. Unfortunately, for some players, the scripts are simply not showing at all in the mod list. So, is there a fix for this issue? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Space Engineers scripts not showing: How to fix it
Here are some workarounds which you can use to deal with this issue. Try these and hopefully one of them will be of help to you.
Don’t check the mod list –
A common misconception that many players have in Space Engineers is that both blueprints and scripts will appear in the mod list along with mods. That isn’t the case. Blueprints can be seen by pressing F10 on your keyboard and to access scripts, you will need to have it enabled first in the world settings. Following that, you can build a Programmable Block. Next, open the Programmable Block’s Control Panel screen and click on Edit > Browse Scripts. You will see all the scripts in here.
Make sure the button above the search bar is set to all –
As suggested here, check that the button with 4 small icons, located above the search bar is set to All. Do so and then hit the refresh button. Your scripts should start showing up in the Browse Scripts menu now.
Hit Refresh –
A simple fix is to just hit the refresh button in the Programmable Block script list and wait for a few seconds. That’s what u/Stubing_Enterprises did to resolve this issue, so be sure to give it a try. If this doesn’t work out for you, then try another method.
Update –
Check if there’s an update available for Space Engineers. If there’s one available, download and install that update. Along with that, do update your PC too. If updating doesn’t help, switch to a different workaround.
Restart –
Restarting is also something you can use to fix that issue. It has worked before, so try it and check if it works for you too. Additionally, reloading your world is also something that could be of help. In case restarting and reloading the world doesn’t help, try other fixes.
Turn on Experimental Mode –
Make sure that you have enabled Experimental Mode in the settings. It needs to be enabled if you want to run scripts, install mods, and such. So, go to Options from the main screen and switch to Game. Next, navigate to General and enable Experimental Mode in there.
Check prerequisites to run scripts –
Something important to note is that there are certain prerequisites for running scripts in SE. Consoles don’t have the option to use scripts, so there’s that. This also applies to the Game Pass version of Space Engineers. And while PC users can run scripts (except Game Pass users), they are only allowed on dedicated servers, not the official ones, i.e., Keen servers.
Well, that’s all the workarounds we have for this issue. You can also take a quick look here if Farming Simulator 19 mods aren’t showing up for you.
