Snowrunner is Saber Interactive’s off-roading simulator that was released in 2020, and was originally titled Mudrunner 2, a sequel to their 2017 title, which itself was a sequel/spin off series of Oovee Games’ original off-roading franchise, Spintires. Snowrunner sees the player maneuver difficult terrain right after a disaster has occurred, sometimes these disasters are natural, like floods, but they can also be man-made, such as a pipeline burst that causes spillage onto roads. In this article, we will be talking about the possibility of Saber Interactive working on Snowrunner 2, and when this potential title could be coming out. Right, let’s get straight into it.
Saber Interactive might be a massive video game development studio, but developing two games at once always increases the workload of any video game studio, and currently, they seem to be working on both World War Z for the Nintendo Switch, as well as an unnamed Painkiller title presumably coming out for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Considering this, as well as the fact that the game studio might be engaged with providing support as well as content updates for the 2020’s Halo games, there is a good possibility that we have to wait quite a while before we get another Snowrunner title.
Also, going by the release pattern for the previous titles we talked about, Spintires and MudRunner, it seems as though a new off-roading video game title is developed by Saber every three years or so. Keeping all of this in mind, we can expect to see a SnowRunner 2 title coming out around late 2023 or early 2024, assuming Saber does choose to continue the series.
We hope you are as excited as we are for the potential Snowrunner 2, no matter when it comes out. Make sure to check out our other articles on the upcoming Forza Motorsport 8, Demon Slayer Hinokami Keppuutan and F1 2022. Cheers!
