Snapchat is a messaging app founded by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown who were students at Standford University. As of March 2020, Snapchat has over 229 million active users. It has grown from 25 snaps per second in May 2012 to an average of 4 billion snaps sent everyday.
In 2016, the company announced its first hardware product Spectacles with a built-in camera which could record 10 second videos. The company also changed its name to Snap.Inc at the same time. These spectacles were made available for purchase online on February 20, 2017. In December 2019, it was the fifth most downloaded app according to App Annie.
One of its main features is that the messages and photos sent by one user to another are only available to see for a limited time. The app is mainly used creating photos/videos called ‘Snaps’ which can be sent privately, shared to all of your friends by putting them as a ‘Story’ or publicly by posting to ‘Our Story’. The feature of sending videos was later added in 2012 with the length capped at 10 seconds. Later, another update extended the cap on video length to 60 seconds
Many users are currently facing some an issue with the Snapchat Snap Score. Snapchat keeps up a ‘score’ of how many snaps you have sent and received since joining the platform. It is the number that appears beside your username.
If you tap the score, two numbers appear, the first is how many snaps you have sent and the second one is how many snaps you have received.
Currently, many users are experiencing the issue that their ‘score’ has remained the same even when they are sending and receiving snaps. Even after updating the app to the latest version this issue is still not fixed.
Currently, there is no response from Snapchat devs regarding this issue. We are keeping a close tab on this matter & will update you with the new information whenever it arrives.
