Hidden Tower Studios finally released SeaOrama: World of Shipping on December 14, 2023, for PC, and so far, the reception has been pretty average. The game certainly has potential, but unfortunately, at the time of publishing this guide, it’s a buggy mess. Furthermore, players have also complained about the gameplay loop not being exciting enough. However, as we stated before, SeaOrama does have potential, provided the developers act upon it. Currently, out of the many bugs and issues plaguing the game, players have complained a lot about their saved game files disappearing.

This one, in particular, is a major issue in the game. Having your entire saved file get lost is not something anybody wants. Losing all that progress is, in one word, heartbreaking. It can also make some players entirely give up on a game. So, it’s only evident that many would want to know if those files can be recovered or not. That being said, here’s everything you need to know about the same.

The reason your saved game file disappeared is due to an issue with Patch 1.03. However, the problem has been resolved, including this saved game file disappearing too. A SeaOrama developer made a Steam Discussion post on December 15, 2023, in which the following was stated to get your old saves:

To retrieve older saves transfer the folder “SeaOrama” from MyDocuments to C:/users/*username*/AppData/LocalLow/Hidden Tower Studios/SeaOrama/

So, as the post suggests, all you need to do to get back your old saves is to just transfer the SeaOrama folder from the MyDocuments folder to the aforementioned path. That’s all that needs to be done to fix this saved game file issue.

To prevent issues like this from happening in the future, we recommend that you keep a copy of these saved files, locally stored somewhere on your PC. This way, even if one of your files gets corrupted or something serious happens with it, you can just load your backup and continue on with the game. Now, don’t just copy these files once and never think about it. In fact, you should try to back up your saved files at regular intervals.

The Steam store page of the game also mentions Steam Cloud in its Features section. So, you can also keep your saved files on the Steam Cloud. Using this and the previously mentioned method will safeguard your progress in the game. Going forward, we are confident that there are going to be a lot of patches that will deal with all the current bugs and issues in the game. Now there’s little chance of the developers changing the save location once again, but just to be on the safer side, keep making backups of your saved files. Well, at least until you are confident about your saved files not getting affected anymore.

And that’s all you need to know on this topic. Additionally, if you want to know about Espresso Tycoon’s Steam Deck support, check out this guide. Well, for more content like this, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Railway Empire 2 Game Modes Explained
