Remove Doors in Rust

If you’re a fan of survival games, then you must try Rust (2018). Developed and published by Facepunch Studios, this game is one of the most popular multiplayer survival titles across the globe. The game was first made available to fans in 2013, when the Early Access version was released. Following this, the full version came out five years later, and it has been quite a popular title. As it is a survival game, a big part of it involves players building up defensive structures. Doors are the best bet for players who want to secure their loot in their safe houses. However, every once in a while, you may have to take down these doors. But do you know how? In this article, we’re going to show you how to remove doors in Rust. So, keep reading!

Building doors into structures is a great way to protect your base and its belongings. By shutting yourself in, you can try to avoid getting attacked by other players. In the game, you can build different kinds of doors. These include wooden doors, metal doors, armored doors, and many more. Building a door can provide you with some protection from enemies, but what if you need to take it down? The reason can be anything, really. You might want to upgrade the door, or maybe you just want to change the position of it. In any case, learning how to remove a door can be extremely helpful. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at how to do so in the game.

How to Remove Doors in Rust?

Remove doors in Rust

Although some players find it quite tricky to remove the doors, the steps are, in fact, very easy. Here, we have listed all the possible ways that you can use to remove or destroy doors in the game.

Pick up the door using keyboard controls

If you’re picking up a single door or a double door, you can simply unlock it and pick it up.

  • Go near the door, face it, and press E on your keyboard to open it.
  • Take your mouse pointer to the door lock, and press and hold E again. Then, select the unlock option.
  • Once the door is unlocked, simply face it, press and hold E, and you’ll get the option to remove the door.
  • Now, to remove a garage door or a vertical hatch, you need to hold a crafting hammer in your hand for the process to be successful.

Use fire to destroy a door

If you’re looking forward to using the door later, then the aforementioned way is the only option for you. However, if you can afford to destroy the door completely, you can simply burn it down (if it’s a wooden door). You can throw a fire arrow or use the flamethrower to burn and destroy the door.

Use explosive ammo or satchels or rocket launcher

Finally, you can take down the doors by firing explosive rounds at them or by blowing them off using satchels or a rocket launcher. Maintain a safe distance from the door while you use the explosive devices, though. Otherwise, you might sustain severe damage and even run the risk of getting killed in the explosion.

So, these are all the methods you can use to remove doors in Rust. Hopefully, you can find the best method for you depending on your situation by using our guide. If you enjoyed reading this article and want to read more such gaming-related content, don’t forget to stay tuned to DigiStatement!
