Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has finally landed on the PC platform. The game so far seems to be a good enough port, just like other PS5 titles that have been released on the PC platform. However, as with any new release, there are some issues in the game that many players are encountering that need immediate addressing, as these can be frustrating to deal with. One such issue is the “texture not loading” issue.
When it comes to PC ports, Sony has been quite competent. It’s not to say that all of their ports are great, but the majority of them seem to run fine without major technical issues. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the latest PC port of the originally released PS5 game, and we expect more such ports to arrive on PC in the future, as Sony itself has announced. Now, coming to this “texture not loading” issue on PC that many players are facing, it might seem hard to deal with, but we do have some workarounds that might be of help to you.
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Texture Not Loading Issue: Is there any fix yet
Currently, there aren’t any official fixes for this particular issue. So until that comes, we suggest you follow the potential workarounds mentioned below.
Restart Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart –
Let us start with something basic and simple. Most issues can be fixed by a simple restart, so this should be your first choice. Well, if performing a restart of the game does the job, then congratulations. However, if it doesn’t, consider restarting your PC, and try again. If the issue persists, continue with the next workaround.
Disable Nvidia Reflex and Ray Tracing (Exclusive to Nvidia GPUs) –
Nvidia GPU users should disable Nvidia Reflex and Ray Tracing too. Some players were able to fix this issue by disabling these options, and so you should try it too if you are using an Nvidia GPU.
Delete in-game DLL files –
As reported by some players, deleting the Directstorage DLL files that can be found in the game’s installation directory fixed the issue for them. So, you can try this as well. However, instead of deleting the files, we recommend moving them to a different location so that you can restore them if things go south.
Update your GPU drivers –
Players who are using GPUs with out-of-date drivers should download and install the latest available ones as soon as possible. Doing this could help you with the issue, so you should try it. Just go to the official website of the GPU manufacturer and download the latest drivers from there.
Check minimum requirements –
Your PC not meeting the minimum requirements for the game could be one of the reasons behind your experiencing this issue. You can check out the requirements here –
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 (version 1909 or higher)
- Processor: Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 470
- Storage: 75 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD Recommended
Switch to a lower Graphics preset–
You could also try switching to a lower graphics settings preset via the game’s Settings menu and see if it helps with the texture not loading issue. Set the game’s texture quality to either low or medium, depending on your PC, and try the game in windowed mode. Additionally, make sure that these in-game options are either off or set to Low –
- Shadow Quality
- DLSS Frame Generation
- Chromatic Aberration
Reinstall –
In case nothing else works, you can always go ahead and reinstall the game. However, if you are planning to do this, don’t forget to save your progress either on the cloud or locally.
