PS5 eject button not working: Fixes & Workarounds

So, you can’t eject disks on your PS5? Well, don’t be alarmed we’re here today to show you how to get rid of this error. Let’s get into it.

  • For the foremost step, you’re gonna have to restart your PS5. PlayStations can run into a variety of errors. Therefore, a simple restart should be enough to fix your issues. Just close all your games and processes and restart your PS5. If it doesn’t work at first then consider unplugging your console for a period of 30 minutes for a hard reboot.
  • Update your PS5- Buttons on the Playstation can act up if the system isn’t kept up to date. So, to prevent this from happening, you will want to make sure that your system is up to date.
  • Eject using your controller- If your PS5 eject button isn’t working, you can try ejecting disks through your controller. Go to the game whose disk you want to eject and open the Settings menu. Click on Eject Disk and it should work.
  • Try putting your Playstation 5 in a different position. A PS5 can be placed horizontally and vertically. So, play around and adjust its position till it eventually starts working. Continue reading if it doesn’t.
  • Use an air compressor to clean out your disk drive. Your eject button could be acting up because there is some debris stuck inside your disk tray that is preventing it from opening up. You can easily clean out any of this with some compressed air.

These are some solid ways that you can try to fix your PS5. But, it is an expensive machine and you don’t wanna damage it by going overboard. Consider contacting customer support if none of these methods work out for you.
