What is the ‘download error in reset mode’ on PS5?
PS5 has been released recently and hence, not all errors and their fixes are known. One such error is ‘download error in rest mode’. The PS5 has features to be active even in the rest mode. Players can even download data in this rest mode. This error shows up every time you decide to download data in the rest mode, the error pops up on the screen. It also doesn’t let you access the already downloaded data.
How to fix the ‘download error in reset mode’ on PS5?
Sony Entertainment has not yet commented on the error and hence there are no official fixes known. We have some solutions which will help you fix the error.
Fix 1: Factory Reset Your PS5
Before factory resetting your PlayStation 5, make sure you have backed-up all of your latest saves onto the cloud or a hard disk.

Go to your system settings on your console.

Then select System Software from the options.

After that choose the Reset Options.

Finally, Select Reset Your Console option.
Fix 2: Rebuild Your PS5’s Database
Rebuilding your consoles database will fix the download error in the reset mode.

Start with turning off your PS5

Once completely off, press and hold the power button until it launches into the safe mode. You will then hear 2 beeps from your console. It signifies that the console is in safe mode.

Then head to the ‘Menu’ of the console.

After that select the option ‘Rebuild Database’.

It will ask you if it’s okay to rebuild the database.

Click on ‘okay’.
The database will be rebuilt and will resolve the download error in reset mode.
