There are many reasons as to why you’re unable to sign in to your PSN account in PS5 as there are several things that might be causing issues with the console itself. Poor internet connection, outdated system software and firmware issues might be the cause of the error.
How to fix the sign-in issues on PlayStation
While the issues of PS5 can give plenty of headaches, however, users often find a solution or a workaround to fix it temporarily. To fix the sign-in issues in PlayStation 5, follow the steps mentioned below.
- In the home screen of your PS5, go to Settings in the top right of the screen and select “Users and Account”.
- In the Users and Account option, select “Others” and then select Sign Out to sign out of your PS5 account. After signing out, sign back in.
- Head to the PlayStation Store section and then tap on the “Sign-In” button. After you’ve done that, you’ll see the “forget password” option. Press the triangle button and it’ll redirect you to a page,
- Enter the e-mail address that you used to sign in, and It’ll send you a link where you can reset your password and log back in again. Open your email ID and click on the link to reset your PlayStation password.
Delete the account from your PS5
This should be considered as a last resort when everything else fails. You can delete your account and add it back again. However, you’ll lose important data in the process that includes screenshots, save files, video clips, etc.
Change DNS address
If both methods above don’t work, you can try to configure your DNS address so that it’s able to receive and send data without any issues.
- To do this, go to “Settings” again and go to the “Network” option, and then “Settings” and then select “Set up Internet Connection”.
- Locate your internet connection, and after selecting it, press the Options button and select “Advanced Settings”
- In the Advanced Settings, go to your primary DNS and change it to 8.8.8.8 and secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4. You can also change to Cloudflare DNS server. For this, set your primary DNS to 1.1.1.1, and the secondary DNS to 1.0.0.1.
- Change MTU setting to “Manual” and type “1473” in MTU just below, and then select “ok”, and see if it works
- Head to the Network option and select “Test Internet Connection”. Now, sign in again to see if the issue is fixed.
