Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid is a survival RPG that you can play alone or with friends in co-op, the game was released on November 8, 2013, in an Alpha stage.

The game is being developed by Indie Stone and is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested world where the player is challenged to survive for as long as possible without dying.

It has various survival features to it such as building houses to protect yourself from the horde and defending using weapons and other items.

The game as of October 2018 had entered a stable version of build 40 and now the next build, i.e, build 41 is in development.

Build 41 is currently in beta development, as in they are still testing the build and it is not stable for a release for the game yet, however, build 41 is said to bring a huge graphical overhaul and is accessible but only in single-player as of now.

Many players have wondered whether multiplayer will be added to Project Zomboid with build 41

Project Zomboid Multiplayer

The current build 41 that is in development has brought a complete animation overhaul, this was a lot of work and took away some of the focus from Multiplayer, however, now a different team heading the multiplayer aspect for Project Zomboid has been working on it and release regular updates regarding the state of its development.

On July 26, 2021, build 41.51 became available for players to play, however, this is still a beta build to test out how the game runs and performs with the overhaul of animation. Patches for Build 41.5 had already started rolling out, To see the full list of what all was added in Build 41.51 and in the following patches, click here,

The developers have given a minimum of another 6 month wait time before multiplayer can maybe become available to all however this is not really set in stone and can be subject to change.

Statement from developers about multiplayer

Project Zomboid is an ambitious game irrespective of how it may visually look and is in reality what a lot of survival games aim to become.

Hopefully, we will see a stable version of multiplayer coming to the game sometime this year.
