Developer and publisher Tensori is all set to release their debut title, POOLS, on April 26, 2024. Inspired by internet phenomena like liminal spaces, backrooms, and found footage, POOLS is stated to have six unique chapters, all of which take only about 10 to 30 minutes to play. The game currently happens to have a demo out, which players seem to be enjoying immensely. With a release date just a few weeks away, there’s a lot about it that players want to know about. And one of those things happens to be whether POOLS has a VR game mode.
POOLS is quite a unique game. As mentioned in its description, there’s no user interface, dialogue, or even background music. You wouldn’t be facing any monsters or trying to achieve a grand objective. Rather, all you will be doing is exploring and walking around. Despite all this, the game manages to craft an uncanny and unsettling experience for its players. The demo has been so well received that many in the community now desperately want to experience the game on VR. So, does POOLS have a VR mode? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Pools game VR mode: Is it available
At the time of publishing this, POOLS doesn’t have a VR mode. Unfortunately, the current demo only allows you to play the game normally. What about the full release? Will the game have VR mode when it releases on 26 April 2024? Well, the answer to that is a simple no. Developer Tensori confirmed on the game’s official Discord server that POOLS will not be released in VR mode.
So, does this mean you will not be able to play POOLS in VR? Not exactly. In a reply to a fan asking about VR support, jh a developer for POOLS, stated this:
“We would love to add VR support and we probably will at some point. But currently we just don’t have the time or the resources to add it yet. But that would be a great addition after releasing the full version. Hopefully we can do it then.”
Furthermore, aj, another developer also recently confirmed VR support for POOLS after its launch by stating the following:
“VR will be most probably the top priority after the release! it would be just amazing.”
Suffice it to say, there are high chances that the game will receive a VR mode eventually, once it is released. However, when exactly Tensori will add in VR support is something we don’t really know. For now, all you can do is enjoy the game as it is. When POOLS does get a VR mode, we will be sure to let our readers know all about that.
