Pokemon Go is teasing a brand new type of egg on their social media profiles, which will likely have something to do with Team Rocket’s research and quests. The Italian Pokemon Go Twitter handle was the first to post about these new type of eggs with red dots. No other information was officially provided , but Pokemon Go has earlier stated that there will be some significant changes in the egg pool later today.

Thanks to PokeMiners, we have already had an idea as to what the new eggs will contain. These eggs have been called Strange Eggs in Pokemon Go’s code, & will contain Dark-type and Poison-type Pokemon. At the moment, we don’t know how much players will need to walk to hatch these eggs. These eggs are likely to be introduced together with some new Special Research that showcases Shadow Mewtwo.
Although adding another egg type that only contains two types of Pokemon seems a bit redundant, it should be noted that numerous rare Pokemon are either Dark-type or Poison-type. Most conspicuously, Deino is a Dark-type Pokemon and is among the hardest Pokemon to find in Pokemon Go currently. Other noteworthy Pokemon that could appear in the eggs include Absol, Gastly, Larvitar, and Zorua.
