Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, the upcoming generation of pokemon games were recently announced and they have been given a release date later this year. They will be coming to the Nintendo Switch first and like all generational pokemon games will introduce 3 new starter pokemon. As always, the starter pokemon will each have the 3 elemental types, one fire, one water, and one grass. This time’s grass-type pokemon is going to be Sprigatito which looks like a cat. Pokemon Go takes pokemon from the generational versions of the game and incorporates them in its universe. It is one of the few games in which pokemon are able to break the region and generational barrier and be available on the same version of the game at all times. In their efforts to include all the pokemon, the developers of Pokemon Go have been using a staggered approach to releasing these pokemon with the release cycle taking anywhere from 6-8 months. The last generation of pokemon from Pokemon Sword and Shield took almost 8 months to be available in Pokemon Go.
Pokemon Go Sprigatito Release Date: When it will be available?
A generational release of Pokemon games is between 3-4 years and the upcoming games will be the 9th generation of pokemon games to come out. In addition to having an exclusive legendary based on version, the games will feature common starters and wild pokemon. Sprigatito is one such example. It will be an optional starter pokemon in both games and if not chosen, can be found in the wild. There is no further information about the attacks or evolution of Sprigatito so far.
Seeing as it is a starter pokemon, it will be one of the first pokemon to come to Pokemon Go when the updates roll out later in 2023. Since the upcoming games are set for a November 2022 release date, it will be 6-7 months before the first pokemon from these games arrive in the Pokemon Go since the developers prefer to drip feed pokemon rather than release them all at once. This is likely being done to engage the players and keep them entertained for longer while also allowing the more serious players to properly understand and master the attacks of these pokemon before newer ones are released. Keeping in mind the staggering update cycle, it is unlikely that this pokemon will come to Pokemon Go before August 2023. So, as of now, we can say that Sprigatito will be released in August-September 2023.
