Developer, It’s Happening’s rougelite cooking management game, PlateUp!, continues to receive regular updates ever since its launch back in August 2022. And it’s these updates that have kept the game enjoyable for players. Just recently, the game got the Pasta Update, which added a brand-new dish option of spaghetti and other new cards. Fans are already having a blast with this new update, but a frequent issue related to seeds is souring that fun.
Because kitchen layouts are randomly generated, sometimes a player can find one that they really want to play again in. A seed helps with that. By entering the correct seed, players can enjoy their favorite kitchen layout instead of having to go through procedural generation. Since there’s no official fix for this issue, you will need to make use of the following workarounds. Follow these thoroughly, and check out which ones are of help.
Check if you are using outdated seeds –
A major reason why you might not be able to use your chosen seed could be because it’s outdated. Seed generation tends to change with each new update, so make sure you are using an active seed. However, if you are, then check out another workaround.
Don’t use modded map seeds –
If someone is using a modded map, then you wouldn’t be able to use that particular seed. Ensure that the seed you want to use is a vanilla one and not modded. If you are indeed using a vanilla seed and still facing this issue, try another workaround.
Restart –
Players can also try using the restart method and see if that helps. Sometimes a simple restart is all you need to fix issues like this one, so give this a try. Additionally, if someone else is hosting, ask them to restart the game.
Use proper sources to find seeds –
We highly recommend that players use either the Seed Explorer tool, follow the official subreddit of the game, or join the official Discord server to get active seeds. This will help you avoid outdated or unusable seeds, and you will be able to enjoy a seed run with no issues.
Enter correct seeds –
This is a pretty simple mistake but a mistake nonetheless. A lot of players tend to enter the wrong seed ID, leading to issues like this one. Because of this, we highly suggest that you enter the correct seed IDs and then double-check them.
