Crossplay in Payday 3

Back in 2013, Payday 2 was one of the most popular heist co-op shooter video games that one could play. The game was highly appreciated for the gripping visuals, sound design, and co-op gameplay mechanics. Almost 10 years later, the sequel to this brilliant title is finally here, and fans cannot hide their excitement surrounding this new game. Developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by Deep Silver, Payday 3 is the third installment in the heist-themed video game series Payday that is currently available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. The key element behind the success of Payday 2 is its co-op mechanics, which allow players to enjoy the game with their friends. The same factor returns in Payday 3, with the developers adding crossplay and cross-progression features. So, if you’re playing the game, do you know how to enable or disable crossplay in Payday 3? Keep reading this article until the end to find out.

Playing any game with your friends is more fun, significantly alleviating the gaming experience. Especially in action/shooter video games, players look forward to the multiplayer or co-op modes that allow them to invite and join their friends as they explore the game. However, one key factor that lies here is the fact that not all the players are on the same platform. While some enjoy playing their favorite games on PCs, others prefer consoles instead. For this reason, the crossplay feature is considered an integral component of the present-day gaming community. So, since this game does include crossplay, do you know how to enable it? If not, continue reading.

How to Enable/Disable Crossplay in Payday 3?

Crossplay in Payday 3

If you play multiplayer games quite often, then you must already be acquainted with the term crossplay. However, if you’re not familiar with it, then let us explain it to you. Crossplay is a feature in video games that allows players on different platforms to team up or play against each other without any trouble. So, if your friends own a game on a different platform than yours, you can still play with them if that game offers crossplay.

Now, of course, this does not come without its fair share of controversies. Some players strictly believe that the crossplay features can put certain platforms in an advantageous position. This is why they don’t really look forward to enabling this option in their preferred video games. Luckily, the Payday 3 developers have taken both sides into consideration. You can indeed enable or disable crossplay in the game as you see fit.

Enabling/disabling crossplay

Irrespective of which platform you’re using, you can turn crossplay on (or off) from the in-game menu. Follow the given steps for the same:

Note: To use the crossplay feature in Payday 3, you must have a Nebula/Starbreeze account using which you will be playing the game.

  • Simply visit the main menu in Payday 3 and click on More.
  • Select and open the Settings menu, and then go to the Gameplay tab.
  • Scroll down to locate Online Options, and here you’ll be able to find the “Disable Crossplay” option.
  • Here, simply note that the option reads “Disable Crossplay”. This means leaving this option on will turn off crossplay in the game, and vice versa.
  • Select a setting of your choice, and you’re good to go.

Well, this is how you can enable or disable crossplay in Payday 3. Hopefully, we were able to provide all the answers that you’ve been looking for through our guide. If you want to read more such gaming-related content, keep visiting DigiStatement!
