2024 has just started, and we have already seen some of the best games of this year. Pocket Pair‘s Palworld is certainly one of them. Released as an early access title on January 19, 2024, it quickly went on to smash a number of Steam records and sell eight million copies in just six days. And while the game is certainly fun, it does have some issues. A major one of which is related to the breeding farm.
The issue here is that whenever players try to use the breeding farm, the game just shows this error: “Allocation to breeding pen failed: Pal is not suitable for cooling.” Many have been looking for fixes but are unable to find any. So, if you are reading this guide, you too might be looking for it. Well, if so, continue reading to find out!
Palworld breeding farm not working: How to fix it?
The following workarounds will help you deal with this issue. Try these and see if any of them are of help.
Put your Pals at the entrance –
Some players had success dealing with this issue by putting their Pals at the entrance of Breeding Farm instead of inside it. Now, if this doesn’t help, switch to the next workaround.
Throw your Pal in the haystack –
Another fix that’s been recommended by players is to stand on one haystack and then throw your Pal in the other haystack. This seems to have worked for some, so try this. Additionally, you can also try carrying your Pal, going inside the farm, and while standing inside, looking up at the sky and throwing your Pal. If even this doesn’t work, try the next workaround.
Build a Breeding Farm inside the base perimeter –
One of the more common causes of this issue seems to be the Breeding Farm being outside of the base perimeter. So, what we recommend you do is check if your Breeding Farm is over the blue line. Even if it’s slightly outside, you will encounter this issue. Now, if it’s indeed outside, scrape and build the Breeding Farm again, inside your base perimeter.
Rebuild –
Rebuilding the Breeding Farm could also be of help so try that. Additionally, we also suggest putting a feeding box in the Breeding Farm and seeing if that helps. This will help in making sure that Pals don’t wander outside to eat and instead stay inside.
Clear everything near the Breeding Farm –
Some players have also mentioned a bug that affects the Breeding Farm. The bug is mostly related to some objects spawning near the farm, resulting in issues like this. As such, what you should do is clear up everything that’s spawned near the farm.
Put back your Pals into Palbox –
Yet another fix for this issue seems to be throwing your Pals back into Palbox and then putting them back into the Breeding Farm. Putting the Pals back into Palbox is said to reset their AI, so we suggest you give this a try and see if the issue persists.
Put your Pals to sleep –
For this particular fix, what you need to do is put your Pals to sleep. Next, when they wake up, you can throw them back into the Breeding Farm and hopefully this will resolve the issue.
Find a different Pal –
Some players have suggested that this is a desync issue with Pals. So, if a Pal is stuck, simply find a different Pal of the same gender and assign it to a pen. Next, swap that Pal for the one you want and check if that fixes this.
Build another base –
If the previous workaround didn’t help, we recommend that you build another base and construct nothing else in there except for a Breeding Farm. Additionally, from now on, avoid building your Breeding Farm on platforms, but rather build it on solid ground.
Well, that’s all the workarounds we have for this issue. Additionally, if you want to know how to fly in Palworld, take a look at this. And for more such content, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Palworld ROG Ally FSR 3 Mod for High FPS & Performance: How to Install
