Last time when the Oneplus was in headlines, it was for good reasons. Whether it was the Android 11 public beta preview or leaked Oneplus 8 series manual guides, we loved it. Earlier we discussed how Oneplus was one among the fastest OEMs to work on providing Android 11 updates sooner. But, this time the Chinese OEM is here for a bad remark. Many users are facing the battery drain issue on their Oneplus devices.
This issue is radically affecting the users’ experience. The web is already loaded with complaints and sadly this issue is a very common one.
Oneplus Battery Drain Issue:
The users claim that they are facing this issue for the last few days and after checking the battery usage data in settings they found that the main culprit behind the battery drain is Google Play Store.
A Reddit user w4ckymunchkin posted on an Oneplus subreddit that, “Has anyone else noticed a really odd battery drain for the past 3 or so days where the playstore is taking up most of the battery in detailed usage but it’s not been active in the foreground or background at all”.
Another user enjoynewlife supported his point by saying, “I confirm, there’s been a huge drain today.”
Oneplus Battery Drain Issue Fix:
Further reading the comments we can find that a user found a temporary fix to this issue while we are waiting for an official update to fix the bug.
The user sm1995 commented that “Same here; I have disabled the Google Play Store and it seems to have resolved the issue momentarily, expecting Google to fix play store bug in the coming days.”
Another user AsturzioAugias confirmed the fix by saying, “I can confirm that disabling play store solves the problem, but isn’t a proper solution.”
If you are facing the battery drain issue on your Oneplus device, we recommend you to disable the Google play store to temporarily fix the issue. For the permanent solution. it is recommended to wait for some time.
Oneplus currently is busy in its Oneplus 8 series devices. Certain reports claim that the successor of OnePlus 7T is expected to come with the butter smooth OLED of 6.55″ with a 90Hz refresh rate 6.78″ with a 120Hz refresh rate display and also coming with the trendy “Quad-Camera”. We also got another news reporting that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 or Snapdragon 865 plus. It is expected to be priced around $749/£649 for 8GB RAM and $949/£849 for 12GB RAM. I would love the OnePlus 8T to come with “Android 11” out of the box. The best thing about the OnePlus is its UI, it is the only non-stock UI which I like. So, we can also expect an update in the UI. The official news will soon be out as we are only a few weeks away from the official release of the latest Smartphone of the Chinese OEM, which falls on October 14, 2020.
