Earlier this month, OnePlus rolled out a software update to its newly launched affordable mid-range smartphone OnePlus Nord. Now the company is back again with a fresh build in the form of OxygenOS 10.5.8 that further brings September Security Patch. This update seems to be a minor software update as it doesn’t seem to bring along a long list of features or improvements.
A Staff member Abdul B shared more details about this update with a message which says, “We are starting to push the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 10.5.8 [India & Global] for OnePlus Nord now and 10.5.8 [EU] will soon follow.”
This means that the update is now being rolled out to India and Global users and it will come to Europe users soon. The software version of the update for the Indian devices is 10.5.8.AC01DA, whereas for the Global users the software version is 10.5.8.AC01AA. In Europe, the software version of this update will be 10.5.8.AC01BA.
Further, on the OnePlus forum, Abdul mentioned the changelog of this update, which comes with a new security patch and few optimizations. The full changelog of the update is given below.
Changelog:
System
- A new feature “Hide silent notifications in status bar” is added to filter out the unimportant notifications, which makes the app notification management easier (Path: Settings -> Apps & Notifications -> Notifications -> Advanced -> Hide silent notifications in the status bar).
- The expanded screenshot user experience for some scenes is optimized.
- Some known issues are fixed and system stability is improved.
- The Android security patch is updated to 2020.09

This update is a phased rollout and initially, the update will be delivered to only a small batch of units and it will be released to a broader rollout in the coming days. If you haven’t received the update then, it is recommended to wait for the OTA update.
OnePlus Nord Specs:
The OnePlus Nord 10 comes with Android 10 based Oxygen OS UI which gives a seamless experience. The SoC used is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G and the graphics card is Adreno 620 GPU. It brings a decent 4115 mAh battery with a 30T fast charging. The OnePlus Nord brings a 6.44″ fluid AMOLED touchscreen HDR10+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This device supports 5G. One impressive feature of the OnePlus Nord is that it is able to shoot selfie videos at 4K 60fps, which is something that even Oneplus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro can’t do.
