One Piece Chapter 981 Summary
The chapter begins with Kid attacking Apoo for backstabbing him. Queen gets shocked to see Kid also here. He thinks about what happened at Udon. Kid scolds Apoo, but the former blown him away with a single melodies attack. Queen orders to kill escapees to shut the trouble at once. Few meters away from all ruckus, number haccha takes down two men of Kid. Luffy and Zoro tell Kid to run from there as they are no longer safe from Apoo’s musical attacks. While running away, Killer tells them that Appo’s attack can reach where they can hear them. Haccha and some other pirates decide to go after Yamato to get a bigger reward.
In the eastern part of Onigashima, Kinemon splits his army into two. Half will breach from Dome Skull to wait for Kaido and others and the other half will go from back. Kinemon and Sanji see an empty brothel in front of them. They rush to cross it, but suddenly Big Mom comes out from the door. In an instant, everybody jumps into the water leaving Chopper in his tank. Big Mom sees Chopper on his tank.
Near the waterfall of Wano, Big Mom pirates begin to climb to take part in the festival and plan to kill Straw Hats. When they go little up, former 1st division of Whitebeard Pirates, Marco appears to stop them. He knocks their ship down in an instant. In the end, Nekomamushi and Izo appear there. Izo says that for the first time Marco has gone at it since the war.

Marco the phoenix has finally accepted the alliance offer to help them. He has appeared at the outer Wano to knockdown Big Mom pirates from the waterfall. Nekomamushi and Izo are also with him which means we may also witness the whole Whitebeard Pirates very soon during the war. Odds are still against the Straw Hat alliance because of their numbers against Kaido and Big Mom. Also, it looks like Marco has appeared as a perfect contender to fight against the secondary antagonist of the arc, King. We still don’t know about King’s power, but if he is strong as Kaido then only a division commander level person can beat him,
On the other hand, we may see an unexpected turn in events in the eastern part. Big Mom may recognize Chopper who treated him. Maybe she gets amnesia again.
