Once Human Verifying Downloaded Files Stuck at 0% error Is there any fix yet

Due to the free-to-play model of Once Human, many players have been flooding in to try out the game since its recent release. With this player influx, some errors have also cropped up. Anyway, if you are not able to launch the game because of the “Verifying Downloaded Files Stuck at 0%” error, don’t worry; we have some fixes that might help you solve the issue. Just keep reading till the end.

Talking about the error, many players have reported facing it on the startup loading screen with the message Verifying downloaded files (0%). As a result, the game cannot proceed past this point, leaving many players like yourself unable to access the game. That being said, let’s get into the potential fixes!

Keep in mind that there is no single fix that will solve the issue, as an official fix has not yet been released. However, we did scour the internet to find some player-suggested fixes that are well worth a try. Check them out below!

Restart and Run as Admin

The first fix to try is restarting the game and launching it with administrative privileges. To do this, close the game completely, right-click on the game’s shortcut or executable file, select “Run as administrator”, and then try launching the game again. Also, starting Steam as an admin and disabling any adblocking software is yet another fix that you can try.

Verify files manually

Another effective workaround is to manually verify your game files through the Steam client. To do this, right-click on “Once Human” in your Steam library, select “Properties”, go to the “Installed Files” tab, and click on “Verify Integrity of Game Files”. After the process, restart your PC, cross your fingers, and relaunch the game.

Download Launcher from official website

A player reported that they faced this when they downloaded the game from Steam. However, the issue was resolved when they uninstalled the game and re-downloaded the game client directly from the Once Human website. So, go ahead and try this workaround if you have installed the game via the Steam Client.

VPN

Some players have found that their Internet Provider was blocking the game for unknown reasons. Using a VPN allowed them to bypass this blockade, and the game worked fine. You can turn off the VPN once you’ve logged in and reached the main menu. On the other hand, if you are already using a VPN, disable it and try relaunching the game. Also, don’t forget to switch between different servers in your VPN.

DNS

Switching to alternative DNS servers such as Google DNS, OpenDNS, or 1.1.1.1 can also fix the issue. To do this, open Network Settings on your Windows PC, head over to your internet connection’s properties menu and change the DNS Server Assignment setting to Manual. Enter the new DNS addresses (e.g., Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, or 1.1.1.1), save the changes, and restart your router and PC. After this, launch the game.

pihole

If you’re using Pi-hole and facing this issue in Once Human, try whitelisting the domain who.nie.easebar.com. This solution worked for users in the US, where Pi-hole was blocking necessary connections for the game to start properly.

We hope these workarounds were helpful. Anyway, keep visiting DigiStatement daily for more gaming reads like this. And since we are on the topic of Once Human, click here to know if it is compatible with popular handheld devices like the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go.
