Among the many hyped games of 2024, developer Inflexion Games’ PVE open-world survival crafting game, Nightingale, just became available as an early access title on Steam. Reviews so far seem to be pretty mixed, with a lot of criticism thrown at the game’s performance and the always-online requirement. However, the gameplay is still fun and players are certainly enjoying it, as evidenced by the 24-hour peak of 32,519 players as of writing this article (data sourced from SteamCharts). Now that Nightingale is such a fresh release, there’s a lot about it that players are curious about. And this article will help you know if it supports HDR, ultrawide (21:9), super ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3, and DLSS.
From HDR to upscaling options, players are always eager to know if a game they want to try supports features like these. A lot of developers either leave some features to be added later or just avoid including them for some reason. So, what’s the case with Nightingale? Does it support HDR, ultrawide (21:9), super ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3, and DLSS? Well, let’s go ahead and find out!!
Nightingale game HDR, Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3 & DLSS Support Details
HDR
Let’s start with HDR. Well, unfortunately, at the time of publishing this, Nightingale doesn’t support HDR. It is certainly disappointing news for many, but it is what it is. However, some players have suggested using the autohdr_force tool as an alternative of sorts. So, if you want, you can give it a try and see for yourself if it works.
Ultrawide Super Ultrawide Support
While no official HDR support might be a big disappointment, players can rest happy knowing that the game supports both ultrawide and super ultrawide. At least you can enjoy playing Nightingale on widescreen monitors now.
AMD FSR 3 and Nvidia DLSS
So, what about AMD FSR 3 and Nvidia DLSS? Well, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that Nightingale supports upscaling. Then what’s the bad news? Well, there is no AMD FSR 3. Currently, you get three upscale in-game: Intel XeSS, Temporal Super Resolution, and DLSS. Nightingale did have FSR 3 support before, but the server stress test performed before the early access launch showed that FSR3 integration was resulting in major crashes. Due to that, developer Inflexion Games announced on February 17, 2024, that they will be temporarily removing FSR3 support. So, for now, if you want FSR3, then you will have to wait a while before the developers add it in once again.
By the way, on the topic of mods, Inflexion has made it pretty clear that they discourage all kinds of mods right now but are still allowing client-side mods, provided they don’t “affect gameplay or interfere with official Nightingale servers”. So, if you are going to use mods, stick to using only client-side ones. You can read more about Nightingale’s mod policy right here.
