One of the reputed repack sites, Corepack has decided to bid farewell to all of us. The team came to a decision after NFS Heat crack incident. Community admin Raven shared a heartfelt post by saying :
I don’t wanna hide the fact that sometimes administration didn’t see eye to eye and the inability to make compromises made things worse. We’re tired of apologizing all the time, even for the things that happened long before my time, to which I had no control over. I guess the recent incident with NFS Heat put the final nail in the coffin, so we’ve decided to close the doors forever and say goodbye to everyone.
We would like to thank all the staff members, for doing such a great job managing the community, Programmers (especially Razor12911, Gupta, Jiva Newstone), Repack Testers, Donors, Designers, VIPs, Uploaders for your priceless contributions towards the CorePacks community over the years. Finally, our members, you guys kept the community going, you gave us a purpose to keep going on, you were the ones that made us different from other groups. So thank you so much for being a part of CorePacks Community.
It all started when one of the admins from CorePack team posted NFS Heat crack on a Russian website. Crackwatch ((a platform to check the security status of new video games) also confirmed the availability of crack which arouse a moment of joy among the gamers.
On December 29th, a verified repacker from a repack site “FitGirl” posted his views on sub-Reddit of Crackwatch. He explained that one of the amateur testers presumably leaked an unfinished CODEX crack of NFS heat. Somehow admin of CorePack team got the crack and posted on the Russian website after discussions. He also mentioned that with the crack in hand, Denuvo will make sure that no one can use the same method anymore. You can read the full post below:
Need for Speed: Heat P2P Crack is actually a stolen CODEX one. And why it’s bad. from CrackWatch
After facing backlash, admin of the Russian site removed the crack by saying :
This is a CODEX crack. An unfinished CODEX crack that was not ment to be for the public. Someone (I assume one of their testers) leaked the crack to the public. Because the NFS heat crack was an unfinished one and reveals all the loopholes and exploits used to crack Denuvo, this is bad news for CODEX.
This is why Christsnatcher says that this could be the start of a long period without Denuvo cracks. Of course, this doesn’t affect CPY, but it definitely affects CODEX.
After all this, CorePack took responsibility and decided to shut down its service.
