The hype for developer Dreamate and publisher Fulqrum Publishing’s upcoming CRPG – New Arc Line, continues to grow with each passing day. Just recently, on April 5, 2024, the developers released an almost three-and-a-half-minute Official Story Trailer for the game which detailed the game’s narrative. New Arc Line was announced last year in August for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 and is scheduled to launch this year itself. As we mentioned before, there’s considerable hype for New Arc Line, and as a result, there’s a lot of curiosity too. Well, something that a lot of players want to know about is whether the game will have a multiplayer co-op mode.
The CRPG genre is currently experiencing an incredible resurgence as of late. From last year’s Baldur’s Gate 3 to Owlcat’s Pathfinder series, it’s certainly an amazing time to be a CRPG fan. Dreamate’s New Arc Line is also looking to emulate the success of those titles. The recent trailer has already generated a newfound interest in the game, leading to new fans asking around for the game’s details. And one of the major questions surrounding the game, as we stated earlier, is if multiplayer co-op will be available in New Arc Line.
New Arc Line Multiplayer Co-op: Will it be available
Well, this is going to be unfortunate news. At the time of publishing this, it’s been confirmed that New Arc Line will not have a multiplayer co-op when it releases. Last year, on September 19, 2023, a fan asked about the possibility of co-op multiplayer in New Arc Line in a Steam Discussion post. A dev took notice of the question and stated this:
“For now, the plan is for New Arc Line to be singleplayer only.”
While that statement was made last year, so far nothing really has changed when it comes to multiplayer in New Arc Line. Suffice it to say that if you were thinking about enjoying New Arc Line in a co-op multiplayer setting, then we suggest that you abandon those thoughts for now.
But will New Arc Line get multiplayer co-op later on after release? Maybe or maybe not. It’s clear that there’s some demand for multiplayer co-op in the game, and the devs are aware of it. Plenty of other games got multiplayer support later on, so that could be the case with New Arc Line too in the future. Or the devs could simply avoid adding multiplayer to the game altogether. For now, there’s really nothing you can do except wait for New Arc Line’s official release. If the devs do add multiplayer co-op in the game, then we will be sure to let our readers know all about it.
