The trend to make games that follow certain movies or shows has been quite popular lately. Following this trend, Bandai Namco Entertainment has launched their latest game, My Hero Ultra Rumble, which is inspired by the popular anime My Hero Academia. The game is currently available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and it came out on September 28, 2023. This is a PvP, co-op battle royale title where you can select your own character, team up with other players, and then join the fight with seven other squads of three players each. As you continue to fight your way to victory, you need to be really good at both attack and defense. Performing attacking moves may not be that complicated, but how do you block the attack from your enemies? In this article, we’re going to show you how to block incoming attacks in My Hero Ultra Rumble. So, continue reading.
In any action game, the defensive skills of the players play as crucial a part as their offensive skills. You cannot simply throw punches and hit attacking moves and expect your enemy to stand still. Of course, the game won’t be that much of a cakewalk. This is where learning defensive skills comes into play, and it’s the same in My Hero Ultra Rumble. However, as the game is relatively new, it’s perfectly understandable if you don’t know how to block your enemies’ attacks yet. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the entire process.
How to Block Incoming Attacks in My Hero Ultra Rumble?
If you want to understand how can you defend yourself from enemy attacks, you should have a little idea about how the game works. So, My Hero Ultra Rumble basically puts 8 teams, each consisting of 3 members fighting against each other. Irrespective of the role you choose, you’ll need to understand how to block attacks, but even more so if you’re playing a support character.
Coming back to the main discussion, unfortunately, you cannot block enemy attacks like in most BR games. My Hero Ultra Rumble doesn’t really offer the players a dedicated key to block incoming attacks. However, the game does offer a Guard Point system. The guard point bar, or the GP bar, will “block/absorb” or mitigate some of the attacks thrown by your enemies. However, as you use up the GP bar, you’ll be left vulnerable to enemy attacks, so you need to dodge and save both your HP and GP.
Collecting GP in My Hero Ultra Rumble
As you continue using up your GP, you’ll need to refill it for further defensive boosts. One way to refill your GP is by filling your Plus Ultra scale up to 100%. You’ll keep filing up the PU scale as you battle, and once you hit 100%, your GP will start regenerating. Other than this, you can also search for shield potions (blue in color) across the map in various chests to give you a shield boost. Lastly, you can refill your GP to 100% once you kill a downed enemy using a fatality.
