Last week we made a post about the delay of chapter 278 of Boku no Hero Academia. The release date according to Viz media is July 20, 2020. In this post, we want to talk about the Weekly Shonen Jump published today in Japan and its raw scans. There is a lot of development in chapter 278 of My hero Academia as heroes are fighting battles on two fronts. First, it is our Deku and Co heroes fighting Shigaraki & Second, Mt. Lady and Class 1-A joining power against Gigantomachia & Liberation Army. Warning! This post contains major spoilers and a potential death in this arc.
Raw Scans & Spoilers of Boku No Hero Academia Chapter 278
The first panel is Class 1-A Juro removing her earbuds out of the ground yelling “Woah”. Pros and heroes around her ask her about the situation. She says something big is heading their way referring to Gigantomachia. Pros make a decision to head to the frontline, leaving student heroes in the backlines.
We shift then to Gigantomachia, the Liberation army on the back discuss on what’s happening. Mt. Lady is desperately trying to hold back Gigantomachia. There are heroes all around Gigantomachia’s feet as Geten shoots at them with his Icy Blast. It is all back and forth fighting, while Cementoss makes a protective barrier to shield other heroes.
Meanwhile, in another scene, we see Re-Destro fighting against Edgelord. The Liberation army people shout to follow Gigantomachia and ‘liberate’ the world. Next, we see Midnight on the back of Kamui Woods. Kamui shouts to Mt. Lady “Hold on a little longer” then Gigantomachia tosses Mt. Lady on his back. Gigantomachia wants to reach to Shigaraki in the shortest way possible.
Mt. Lady is extremely beaten up but hanging onto the monster’s legs. She also cracks a joke in that condition. Jirou reports that Gigantomachia is being slowed down by Mt. Lady but will reach them soon enough. Midnight tries to take off her sleeve in an attempt to put the monster to sleep. But Dabi interrupts her with a fire blast. Compress then shoots an attack at her which she isn’t able to dodge and goes flying into the forest, last seen in an awful condition.
She says “It is too big, it’s hopeless”.
We shift to Yaoyorozu panicking at the sound of Midnight’s painful scream. Her comm gets an instruction from Midnight saying “No one can stop it with force, we need someone to sleep!” Creati (hero-name of Momo) starts to formulate a plan. Midnight tells them to put the Liberation Army members to sleep with some sort of Anesthesia. Midnight then entrusts the decision making to Momo and abruptly stops talking over the comms. Momo grieves Midnight and we think that Midnight might be dead!
Creati instructs some of her classmates on a plan of action. They see Mt. Lady struggling and then Creati yells “Do you expect me to be a hero after showing my back and running away?” She hands out some jars she made to the other students possibly anesthesia. In the end, Class 1-A looks very determined to defeat the Liberation Army!
