Monster Hunter Wilds Graphics Artifacting Issue Is there any fix yet

Monster Hunter Wilds is surely an epic adventure, but not all are able to experience it right. Some players have been running into a frustrating issue: graphics artifacting. From strange flickering textures to weird color glitches and screen tearing, these visual bugs can take you out of the experience. If you’re dealing with this, you’re probably wondering, is there a fix yet? Well, consider reading this guide for details regarding this issue and workarounds to fix it for good.

Graphical artifacting in Monster Hunter Wilds leaves you with bizarre visual glitches, flickering textures, and even full-screen distortions ruining the experience. Reports suggest that these glitches are making the game nearly unplayable, blocking visibility and breaking immersion. Until an official fix arrives, players are left scrambling for workarounds to salvage their hunts.

Monster Hunter Wilds Graphics Artifacting Issue: Is there any fix yet

Monster Hunter Wilds Graphics Artifacting Issue Is there any fix yet

As of now, there’s no single guaranteed fix for the graphical artifacting in Monster Hunter Wilds. Some users have found temporary solutions, and below, we’ve compiled a list of possible fixes that you can try out.

Rollback GPU Drivers

The graphical artifacting in Monster Hunter Wilds has been amplified by the latest Nvidia GPU drivers. So, if you’re using an NVIDIA GPU, avoid updating to the February 27 driver update, as many players have reported encountering this issue only after installing it. For now, the best course of action is to stick to a stable driver version that was released before February 27.

Frame Gen and Graphics Settings

If you’re experiencing graphical artifacting in Monster Hunter Wilds, disabling Frame Generation in the settings may resolve the issue, especially if you’re using an RTX 4000-series GPU. Additionally, running the game with VRAM usage too high can trigger visual glitches, particularly during cutscenes. If you see a VRAM usage warning in the settings, try lowering some graphical settings until the VRAM bar falls below the first threshold.

Reduce Mesh Quality

Some players have reported that simply reducing Mesh Quality to Medium instantly cleared up the visual glitches. To try this, go to the in-game graphics settings menu, locate the Mesh Quality option, and set it to Medium. Apply the changes and restart the game if necessary. This tweak seems to reduce the strain on rendering, potentially preventing the graphics artifacts from appearing.

Disable MSI Afterburner

Another possible fix for the graphical artifacting issue is to disable MSI Afterburner. It is possible that overclocking or FPS monitoring software like MSI Afterburner is interfering with Monster Hunter Wilds, causing visual glitches. To test this, close MSI Afterburner (if installed) completely before launching the game. If the artifacts disappear, you may need to keep Afterburner disabled while playing or adjust the settings to avoid conflicts. You need to make sure all similar applications installed on your PC are disabled before you launch the game.

DLSS and FSR

Perhaps the graphical artifacting issue could be due to DLSS. Some players have reported experiencing artifacts when using DLSS, while FSR seems to work fine without any visual glitches. If you’re facing this issue, try switching the Upscaling Method from DLSS to FSR in the graphics settings. Not only does it seem to prevent the artifacting problem for some users, but it may also provide a clearer image quality in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Freesync/G-Sync

If you’re experiencing screen flickering along with graphical artifacts, your monitor’s adaptive sync technology might be the culprit. Some players have reported that turning off FreeSync (for AMD users) or G-Sync (for NVIDIA users) completely eliminated the flickering. You can disable it through your GPU control panel, either via AMD Adrenalin or the NVIDIA Control Panel, then restart the game and see if the issue persists.

Nvidia Reflex

Graphical artifacting in Monster Hunter Wilds is a known issue, and enabling NVIDIA Reflex can make it even worse by introducing additional instability. To mitigate this, go into the game’s settings menu, select the Graphics tab, and disable NVIDIA Reflex. This may help reduce the severity of the artifacting and improve overall visual stability while playing.

These are the workarounds available for now, and we hope they help you get Monster Hunter Wilds running smoothly. We are expecting a patch/update to be released that will fix this issue once and for all. Until that happens, be sure to bookmark DigiStatement for more such interesting reads on all things gaming!
