Monster Hunter Now (MHN) Gyro Not Working Issue: Is there any fix yet

Monster Hunter Now happens to be the latest title from Pokemon Go developer Niantic, Inc. Officially released on September 14, 2023, this game, like other Niantic titles, is a smartphone-only title that features AR elements. And if you are an avid Monster Hunter fan, you must already know what the gameplay entails. Pokemon Go is centered around catching Pokemon, while Monster Hunter Now, on the other hand, is focused on hunting and killing monsters. So far, the game has been going great, but like any other game, this one also has certain issues plaguing it. The gyro not working issue is a major one.

The issue here is quite clear, as you might have guessed by the title. We don’t really know what causes the gyro to not work properly, but the resulting effect is certainly annoying. With the faulty gyro controls, you won’t be able to aim effectively, thereby increasing the chance of losing a battle against monsters drastically. So, is there a fix for this issue? Continue reading to find out!

Try out the workarounds mentioned below and see if any of them help with fixing this issue. Try not to skip them unless you have already tried that workaround.

Restart the game –

Perform a restart of the game and see if it helps resolve this issue. If it doesn’t work, restart your device this time. Generally, this will be all you need to fix this issue. However, if the issue persists, you can move on to the next workaround.

Recalibrate the Gyro of your device –

Since the issue is related to the gyroscope of your device, you should recalibrate it and then check if the issue persists. As for how to calibrate the gyro of your smartphone, you can download and use a third-party application like Accelerometer Calibration. Once you have recalibrated it, launch the game and then try using Gyro to see if it works normally.

Update the game –

Always keep the game updated. Check if there’s an update available first. If yes, then download it immediately, and after it’s installed, start the game. Check if the issue persists. You should also ensure that your phone is up-to-date with the latest version.

Ensure that the gyro is on –

Maybe the reason you have encountered this issue is because the gyro option in-game isn’t turned on at all. To ensure that you have turned it on or to correct your mistake, tap on the Gyro button in-game. It’s located in the upper right corner of the hunting screen, so you won’t have much trouble finding it. If it’s toggled off, switch it on. Just tilt your device to see if the gyro works or not. If not, then consider switching from semi to full gyro and vice versa.

Reinstall the game –

Try this workaround if you still aren’t able to fix the issue. Don’t forget to link an account to the game so that no progress is lost. After that, just uninstall the game, head to your App Store or Play Store, and then put the game on download. When the installation is done, log in to your account and check whether the gyro feature works.

Well, that’s all we’ve got on this issue. By the way, we have been hearing reports about another bug where small monsters don’t seem to spawn. Fortunately, we’ve got a guide on that too.
