Minecraft: How to fix your realm will soon be updated?

Minecraft realms are private servers where people can play in small groups with their own realm stories and game modes. It makes the process of hosting easier for the user, helping them to manage the server from inside the game. However, the users might occasionally see some error messages that could indicate some type of bug or prompt some action. This article discusses the realm update message and the associated error and lists the possible workarounds.

Minecraft: How to fix your realm will soon be updated?

This problem is not new for Minecraft players and may pop up due to several reasons. The full message reads, “Your realm will soon be updated. You will need an update too”. The most common reason for this is the availability of a new update. Additionally, there have been platform-specific issues in the past with PC users finding it a bit difficult to update and run the game. The troubleshooting steps that you can try to resolve this have been listed below:

  • Update your game to the latest version. PC users can check the Microsoft Store or the Xbox app.
  • Ensure that the Realm owner has an active subscription. You may also sign out of your Microsoft account and restart your device. Thereafter, sign in and launch the game.
  • A common method to recover your realm is to replace it with a copy. For this, go to your realm and select the edit icon, followed by the edit button for your world.
  • Download the world and open it from the world’s list. Save and quit the world, then open the edit menu again for that world. This time, click on the Replace world button and replace it with the saved copy you made just now.
  • You can try resetting the Microsoft Store cache by pressing Windows key+R to open the Run dialog box. Type wsreset.exe in the box and press Enter.

That will be all from Digistatement. This problem is currently surfacing because of the recent update for Minecraft. It usually resolves on its own after the update has been installed. In case you are still stuck with the issue, you can let us know. While we find a solution for you, you may check other articles on our site for various informative topics on gaming.
