Marvel Rivals How to play it early & sign up for beta

Marvel Rivals has the potential to become the go-to PVP shooter if all goes right. With cross-platform support, Marvel Rivals can become the top choice for gamers when it comes to cross-platform PvP shooter. So far, we don’t have a release date yet for the game but if you are a serious Marvel fan or someone who just can’t wait for the official release, closed beta tests are still an option for you. But what are the details of the upcoming Closed Beta Test for the game? When will it start? And most importantly, how can you sign up for it to play early? Here we are with all the answers.

Were you lucky enough to try out the game during the Closed Beta? If you did, you got the chance to try out the 19 different characters and get a first-hand experience of the gameplay and the graphics. But since you clicked on this guide, chances are you missed out on the Closed Alpha as not everyone could join in. The Closed Alpha was limited to 30,000 players and had only a few friend keys available. Additionally, it was only available on PC, so console players couldn’t participate. But now, the closed beta has no such restrictions, and here is all you need to know about it!

First of all, The Closed Beta Test (CBT) for Marvel Rivals will start on July 23rd at 22:00 UTC (3:00 PM PDT, 6:00 PM EDT, July 24th at 7:00 UTC+9) and run until August 5th at 7:00 UTC (12:00 AM PDT, 3:00 AM EDT, 16:00 UTC+9). If you are in North America, Europe, or Asia region, you can play the CBT. That being said, First, you will need to request a code for the Closed Beta Test. Once you receive the code, you will need to use it to access the game. We have explained the entire process in detail below.

Requesting for Access

To sign up for the Closed Beta Test on Steam, visit the Marvel Rivals Steam store page, and click “Request Access” under “Join Marvel Rivals Playtest”. After that, it is just a waiting game, and you will be notified if your request has been granted. For console sign-ups, you will have to fill out a form but at the time of writing this guide, the form is not accessible. However, you can join the official Marvel Rivals Discord, verify your account, fill out the form, and submit it there. Again, you will have to wait for the results to be announced.

Using the code

Hopefully, your request for early access will be granted, after which you will receive the code in your email id. All that is left to do is use it and get to play the Closed Beta Test. Here is how you can use the code on different platforms.

  • PC via Steam: Launch your Steam client, and on the top menu bar, select “Games”. From the drop-down menu, you have to choose the “Activate a Product on Steam” option and enter the Marvel Rivals Closed Beta access code that you received. After that, just follow the prompts to install the game.
  • PlayStation 5: For PS5, from your Store menu, click on your profile at the top of the screen. Now, from the drop-down menu, choose “Redeem Code”, then enter the Closed Beta access code. Wait for it to be verified and then you are free to download and play the game.
  • Xbox Series X|S: Press the Xbox icon on your controller to open the guide and click on the Store icon. Again, press the “Redeem” option and enter the code in the box. Wait for the system to check the code and if all goes well, you will have the option to download the game.
