The latest chapter 162 named ‘Musical chairs’ of the promised Neverland is mind-blowing. As the name suggests this chapter is all about the empty chair of power. Who is going to take control of the demon side of the world as now the Queen is dead?
The chapter starts with Sonju and Musica riding towards the temple to meet the high priest and the four sages. Sonju explains to Musica that these people are much respected by the citizens and have dedicated themselves to the service of common people. They are the ones who chose the kings and assisted them. Even though they are now driven out of the capital because of his father. For over 1000 years they are still praying for the citizens’ well-being without even eating anything using suspended animation (stopping the metabolism). The citizen believed that they can eat cultivated meat because of the prayers of the high priests quelled the anger of the gods. So Sonju and Musica are going to revive them using their blood and will make them King as no one else is better suited for the position.
Meanwhile, Peter Ratri finds out about the death of the Queen and the five region houses. He now knows that those premium cattle children are not only alive but also killed the Queen somehow even though it’s something impossible for them to do. He thinks of using this situation on his advantage and wants to take over the demon world as its King.
We later cut to a scene where Peter uses his trump card. Yes, Isabelle finally comes back but as an enemy for now. She got promoted from mother to grandma.
In the next chapter, we will be continuing with these situations as this was a very great chapter, not just because of Isabelle but because of everything else, the stuff with the high priest and the four sages is a very interesting sort of demon world political setup. Peter Ratri’s immediate reaction to the Queen’s death and Isabelle returning back is very thought-provoking.
The kids will be in action as we didn’t see them in this chapter at all. Even though making the high priest the King is a good option but it is possible that Peter won’t let that happen so easily if he finds out about it. It’s interesting to know, why actually Peter wants the power, is it just because he wants to be in the top of everything or he doesn’t want anyone to find out about the failure and betrayal of the Ratri clan.
It’s questionable if Isabella is actually on Peter’s side or just acting to be and plans to help the kids out. We will know for sure after her reunion with Emma, Norman and especially Ray. Peter looks very confident, going to use Isabelle against Emma’s team is a pretty good idea. It will be interesting to see how they will react to seeing Isabelle in their opposition. I feel like she’ll be disappointed that they came back, especially since she went out of her way to cover their tracks when they escaped. All of these mysteries are going to unpack in upcoming chapters.
