So far, the developers have not released an official patch to address this error, leaving players to troubleshoot on their own. That said, we have explained some potential workarounds that could help with the DXGI error. Try them out and see which one works out for you.

Basic Checks

The first thing to try when facing the DXGI Error Device Hung issue is a simple PC restart. Close the game completely and restart your PC to refresh system resources. Additionally, ensure that you are running the game with administrator privileges, as this can help prevent permission-related conflicts that might be causing the crash.

GPU-related Fixes

Make sure your GPU drivers are fully updated, especially if you are using an NVIDIA graphics card. It is possible that the recent hotfix driver update has addressed the DXGI Error Device Hung issue in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Check for the latest drivers on the official NVIDIA website or through GeForce Experience, install the update, and restart your system to see if the problem is resolved. Do the same for AMD by visiting the official website and checking if there is an update pending for your AMD GPU. Also, after updating your GPU, type “Graphics” in the Windows search box to open the Graphics Settings menu, and from the list of installed programs that appear, select Kingdom Come Deliverance II and set it to “High Performance”.

Disable Hyperthreading

A possible fix is to disable hyperthreading on 12th-gen and newer Intel processors. Some players have reported frequent crashes occurring after 30 minutes to an hour of gameplay, even after updating to the latest NVIDIA drivers. If you’re using a 12th-gen or newer Intel CPU, try disabling hyperthreading via your BIOS settings and see if that stabilizes the game.

Cap FPS

You can also try to limit your FPS to a certain value (60/70/120) or to the value of your monitor’s refresh rate. A player reported that after capping their FPS, they were able to play for over two hours without experiencing a crash. You can use your GPU’s software to limit the FPS. While this isn’t an ideal solution, it may help improve stability until an official fix is released. If you’re facing frequent crashes, try setting an FPS cap and see if it makes a difference.

DLSS and Graphics Settings

A player reported that disabling DLSS and lowering graphics settings to Medium helped reduce crashes, allowing them to progress through the game. Make sure to disable GPU-intensive features like shadows, post-processing, etc. You can go ahead and set the in-game Graphics Settings to low and then work your way up to find the perfect balance.

Check for updates

Keep an eye out for game updates, as patch fixes are yet to be released for the game. Developers are likely working on patches to address widespread issues, including the DXGI Error Device Hung crash. Regularly check for updates on Steam or the official game channels to ensure you don’t miss any updates. Once an update is released, download and install it and then check whether the issue persists.

That is all we have to share about the DXGI Error in Kingdom Come Deliverance II. We hope this guide has been helpful. Keep visiting DigiStatement for more guides and news on all the latest gaming trends. Also, click here to find out about the save file location for Kingdom Come Deliverance II.
