Kingdom Chapter 648 took some drastic turns in the story line. On one hand we have the death (potentially) of Ryo Fui as he extends his hands to Sei. While on the other hand we have Qin’s army retreating from Zhao territory, we have been given no apparent reason though. Seems like we will have to wait just a little bit longer for Kingdom Chapter 649.
Weekly Young Jump as well as some other mainstream mangas are all taking a break this week from publishing due to Marine Day. But it is not all bad news as we get an extended double chapter for the next issue!
Kingdom Chapter 649 Release Date
The chapter was previously supposed to be published on July 30th, 2020. But due to Marine day, publications are taking a break and picking up the pace from next month. We will get to have a dig at a double issue on August 6th, 2020 being the release date for Kingdom Chapter 649. The raw scans of Chapter 649 will be available in a couple of days, stay tuned when we update the post.

Kingdom Chapter 648 Recap
What a blast this chapter was. Ryo Fui has managed to outwit us all one last time though as he makes his exit from the Kingdom stage, possibly dead. So in the last chapter we have Ryo Fui going to Kanan secretly and meeting Ryo Fui. They both have a lengthy conversation on philosophy of kings and each other. Ryo Fui calls Sei soft hearted and calls for his defeat. Sei asks him about the amassing of people in Kanan.
Ryofui exasperated replies that it is only the consequence of actions and not his doing. He assures King Sei to leave Kanan under him as he vows to get things under control. We have an emotional departure as Ryo hugs Sei and tells him that he will regret not seeing the world Sei will make in the future.
A month later we get the news in Kanyou about Kanan still gathering more people. The court work on discussing when they get the most shocking news. Ryofui is dead. He committed suicide by drinking poison.
Let us see how Sei and Zhao Kingdom go from here.
Kingdom Chapter 649 Spoilers Revealed & Raw Scans
Ryofui had an incredible journey with his antagonist arc but still retaining that good guy aura in him. But we have to move on to the precarious state Zhao kingdom was left in last chapter. Now let us get down to what might happen in the next few chapters. We have the Qin army retreating which makes sense historically speaking. The Zhao made a political pact with Qin that made a make-shift peace last for a while. Now Hara has full control over the reason of the retreating, we also see a little bit of foreshadowing on the eventual decent of Sei towards a cruel dictator. Let us see what happens in the next chapter when the raw scans are out.
Here we have some incredible things happening in this chapter:
First we talk about Zhao:
In Zhao, Qin army is struggling to get past the stronghold of Zhao army. Shin is struggling to past the walls and walls of soldiers coming in to support. All the other fronts seem to be struggling as well, Shin decides to head back to HQ and talk with Karyoten. They agree that the commanding generals are veterans and know how to properly hold out the Qin army. She suggests removing a part army from another location but that would only weaken that location as well. They fear that Wei joins the battle then they would be forced to retreat and even abandon Gyou. Shou Hei Ken seems to be planning something big and they decide to wait for news from Kanyou.
Kanyou:
Shou Hei decide that an alliance with Wei is the best possible option but Ei Sei says that Wei wouldn’t agree. Shou Hei says that he has a plan to try and convince them even though after Zhao, Wei will be attacked next.
Wei:
Gohoumei comes to the Wei Capital to hear the news of the alliance. Gohoumei instantly rejects the proposal of Qin but gets interested in listening about their condition. The condition given is to conquer Juuko and then giving it to Wei for control. Juuko is a special location that has a number of advantage and falls directly between Qin, Zhao, Chu and Han. At the moment, Chu armies have occupied the Castle of Juuko. The alliance is supposed to last for 3 years where they help Qin conquer Zhao and Juuko to be handed them the place later. We do not see Gohoumei or Wei’s decision on the alliance.
There will be a break next week as well for Chapter 650 of Kingdom.
