The recent announcement trailer of Zoochosis has everybody eagerly excited for its release. Developed by Clapperheads, it’s a bodycam horror title, one where you take on the role of a night zookeeper and try to survive against some of the most horrifying mutated animals. It’s a really interesting premise that also happens to be coupled with amazing gameplay, from what we have seen so far. Well, Zoochosis is slated to arrive on PC in Q2 2024, but what about consoles?
For many studios, releasing their games on PC first seems to be a popular choice. Compared to consoles, PCs happen to have a larger market share, which in turn is dwarfed by mobile gaming. Releasing on PC first means more reach and more revenue and that’s something all developers need. However, this doesn’t mean that the console market is not worth it. Porting a game to other platforms allows developers to earn more revenue while also garnering a wider player base. So, is that something Clapperheads is looking forward to doing with Zoochosis? Will the game arrive on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch? If yes, then when? Well, continue reading to find out all about that.
Is there a Zoochosis PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch Release Date
As of now, Clapperheads, the developers behind Zoochosis, are yet to share any kind of information or announcements regarding the game coming to different platforms other than PC. It is certainly a bummer for many, but it is what it is. As we stated before, Zoochosis will be arriving on PC in Q2 2024, so there are still a good few months left before the main release. Maybe the developers will announce something console-related before then. But that’s a big if, to be honest.
Now, the official discord of the game happens to have an ask-the-devs channel where curious fans have been asking a myriad of questions related to Zoochosis. Coincidentally, someone did ask about Zoochosis being ported to the Nintendo Switch. To this, Inna Fomina, a developer on the Zoochosis team, replied the following:
“Hi! Thank you! So far, we don’t plan to launch the game on platforms but we will focus on the reaction of the players!”
As you can guess by that particular reply, it seems like the developers aren’t quite sold on making the game multiplatform at the moment. However, if the demand is there, then they might just decide to port the game to other platforms too. Suffice it to say, for Zoochosis to make its debut on platforms other than PC, there needs to be a substantial demand for it. For now, all you can do is wait for Clapperheads to release more information on the game and see if the developers do decide to make Zoochosis multiplatform.
