The Season 2.5 Update of Marvel Rivals went live on May 30, 2025. With the update, the game received a ton of new changes, including a new Strategist Ultron. Players are trying the new strategist and figuring out how to get value out of him. In addition to the inclusion of a new hero in the game, the update also brought balance changes. Human Torch was nerfed, along with Iron Man and Iron Fist. Storm got a new team-up with Jeff, and Hawkeye received a few buffs along with a new team-up with Luna. Anyway, if you have updated the game, queued for a competitive game, lost it, and now want to make sure you don’t get a particular teammate on your team ever again, you will find that the Avoid as Teammate option is gone. So, did NetEase remove this option? Let’s find out.
The Avoid as Teammate option is a very interesting setting that gives players the ability to restrict some players from being matched in their teams. While this setting works for the majority of the time, there are reports from players that even after they added a player to the avoid list, they still were matched with them in the next match on the same team. So, it is obvious that you might think that the developers have removed this option entirely. Well, that’s not the case. The Avoid as Teammate option in Marvel Rivals is still present. You just need to know where to look for it.
