Is Springtrap in Dead by Daylight (DBD)

The Dead by Daylight (DBD) community is on a roll, with various collabs coming out for the game. Recently, Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider franchise made her appearance in Dead by Daylight. Now, the community is again speculating, and many, like yourself, are excited about the idea of a new killer being added to the roster. Actually, whispers have been growing louder about the possibility of Springtrap, the terrifying character from the Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) series, making his way into the entity’s realm. But is there any truth to these rumors, or is it just another case of fan-fueled speculation? We’re here to clear the air and explore what might be lurking in the shadows!

For nearly a year now, fans have been creating concept art and speculative ideas about a collaboration between Five Nights at Freddy’s and Dead by Daylight. While many possible characters could be the stars of this collab, it is Springtrap that most players are excited about. However, despite all the fanfare, there hasn’t been any official word from either FNAF or Dead by Daylight’s developers so far. So, why is there renewed buzz around this potential crossover? What’s sparking these discussions now? We’re here to break it all down for you, so keep reading till the end for all the answers.

Recently, Scott Cawthon, a developer in the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, sat down for an interview with Dawko on his YouTube channel. The conversation covered a wide range of topics, from the FNAF franchise’s future to its impact on the horror genre. But what really caught the community’s attention was Scott’s mention of a big announcement set to drop on August 5th. Speculation went into overdrive, and now the moment has arrived!

It is official!

Yes! The collaboration is no longer just a rumor—it’s official now! The Dead by Daylight Twitter handle recently posted an official image that reads “DBD x FNAF”, confirming that the two franchises are coming together. The image also teases “Summer 2025”, giving players a hint on when they can expect this crossover to drop. However, while the collaboration is confirmed, there’s still a bit of confusion when it comes to Sprintrap because the announcement did not explicitly mention Springtrap or any specific characters, leaving most guessing about who will take center stage in this crossover. So, while we know a major collaboration is on the horizon for next year, the identity of the main star is still a mystery.

Will Sprintrap be available?

While Springtrap hasn’t been officially confirmed, he’s the most likely candidate to join Dead by Daylight. Even before this announcement, fans were already busy crafting concepts and ideas about how Springtrap could fit into the game’s eerie atmosphere. Given the community’s prior excitement and the character’s popularity, it’s hard to imagine the developers overlooking such a perfect match. The developers are undoubtedly aware of their player base and what they want to see. In a nutshell, with nearly a year to go before the game’s release, there’s a strong chance we’ll see Springtrap officially confirmed as part of this collaboration. But since official confirmation has not yet been made, make sure to take this information with a pinch of salt.

Well, that should clear your doubts on this matter for now. Anyway, for all your gaming-related queries, make sure to visit DigiStatement first! Read more: Dead by Daylight (DBD) Cross Progression Release Date: When it will be available
