Is Heatmor good in Pokemon Go

Is Heatmor good in Pokemon Go

Is Heatmor good in Pokemon Go

At the height of its success, Pokemon Go captivated the whole world. Today, not so much. It isn’t a hidden fact that the game doesn’t enjoy the same popularity it had when it launched in 2016. However, it’s not entirely gone downhill. Pokemon Go still has a pretty active player base and continues to rake in a good amount of revenue. There are regular updates released for it, along with new Pokemon for players to catch and raise. In fact, there are over 950+ creatures in the game as of writing this guide. And with so many Pokemon to catch, it can be quite hard for players to decide whether a certain Pokemon is good or bad. That’s where guides come into play. This one in particular will help you find out if Heatmor is good in Pokemon Go.

Introduced in Generation V, Heatmor is a Fire-type Pokemon from Unova and resembles an Anteater. The Pokemon made its Pokemon Go debut in 2019 at the start of the A Unova Unveiling. A unique thing about Heatmor in PoGo is that it’s a region-exclusive Pokemon, just like Zangoose. Players only from Europe, Asia, and Australia are allowed to catch this Pokemon. Niantic is currently hosting the Rivals Week event, in which both Heatmor and its rival/prey – Durant, are also featured. As a result of this, there’s a pretty big interest in Heatmor right now. And this guide will shine a light on whether it’s a good enough Pokemon to invest your resources in. So, without much further ado, let’s go ahead and take a look at Heatmor in Pokemon Go.

Is Heatmor good in Pokemon Go

Is Heatmor good in Pokemon Go

As we stated before, Heatmor is a Fire-type Pokemon found in the Unova region. It doesn’t evolve from any Pokemon and neither does it evolve into one. Put simply, it has only one form, akin to the likes of Ditto, Lapras, Moltres, Kangaskhan, and more. As for its in-game stats, here they are:

  • Max CP: 2708
  • Attack: 204
  • Defense: 129
  • Stamina: 198

Heatmor is only weather-boosted during Sunny weather and has a buddy distance of about 3km. Now, when it comes to its Shiny form, yes, there is indeed one available in the game. Shiny Heatmor is darkish in color compared to the regular Heatmor and was added to Pokemon GO at the start of Pokemon Go Fest 2020.

Resistance and Weakness

Heatmor takes an increased amount of damage from Ground, Rock, and Water-types. At the same time, it takes less damage from Bug, Fairy, Fire, Grass, Ice, and Steel-types. The following list gives a better look at its resistance and weakness.

Weak to
  • Ground (160%)
  • Rock (160%)
  • Water (160%)
Resistant to
  • Bug (62.5%)
  • Fairy (62.5%)
  • Fire (62.5%)
  • Grass (62.5%)
  • Ice (62.5%)
  • Steel (62.5%)
Moves
Fast Attacks
  • Lick
  • Fire Spin
Charged Moves
  • Flamethrower
  • Thunder Punch
  • Power-Up Punch

Good, Bad, or Mediocre

To be entirely honest, Heatmor’s stats are nothing to write home about. Having a 204 ATK, 129 DEF, and 198 STA in this day and age is not ideal. It would have been something different during the launch years of Pokemon Go, but not now. The meta is different and thanks to the 950+ Pokemon available in the game, Heatmor is seldom seen on the competitive or PvP scene.

Fire Spin and Flamethrower are considered the best movesets for Heatmor and are used mostly in PvE. Unfortunately, like we said before, Heatmor isn’t a viable choice for PvP at all. The only thing Heatmor is reliable for is defeating Durant. Other than that, there are far better Fire-type Pokemon to raise and invest in. All in all, Heatmor, the Anteater Pokemon, falls on the Bad side of our Good, Bad, or Mediocre scale. Verdict: BAD.

Well, now you know all about whether Heatmor is a good Pokemon in Pokemon Go. You can also take a quick look here if you want to know whether Mega Sceptile is good in Pokemon Go or not. And for more such content, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Is Dusclops Rare in Pokemon Go (2024)
