Many of us like to watch intros of our favorite game and Icarus also has a cool intro that plays when you open the game. While we do enjoy watching it from time to time, sometimes we’d just like to skip them and play the game. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t let players skip the intro which can be frustrating for being forced to watch every time when playing the game. About the game
Icarus is a session-based PvE survival game that supports a maximum of eight co-op players or solo. It features a dynamic weather system, fluid day and night cycle, resource management like food, water, and oxygen that add the immersion of survival even more into the game. You can play either solo or co-op with friends and each offers their experience in a fun way.
How to skip Icarus intro!
Skipping the intro video in Icarus is very simple and easy to do if you know what you’re doing, all you have to do is follow the necessary steps and you’ll be fine. To skip the game’s intro, the first thing you’re gonna have to do is find the game in steam library and right-click on it, select manage, and then click on “Browse local files”.
Once you’re into the game’s directory, open the Icarus folder and then the Content folder where you will find another folder named Movies, and inside there you’ll find several video files and here you have to rename the Startup_01.mp4 file to Startup_01-.mp4, or whatever you prefer to. As for the unskippable rw_logo intro file, rename it to “rw_logo-“.
Once you’re done with that, launch the game again and you’ll see that no intro video is being played and you’ll get into the main menu directly. It will skip the annoying intro and will let you play the game directly without any interruptions whatsoever. It is also beneficial if you’re experiencing crashes and unskippable intros adding even more stress to you.
