When it comes to PvPvE games, there are not really that many good ones out there. But what we have is nothing short of amazing. Escape of Tarkov is certainly the best PvPvE game out there, with Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown coming in next. Speaking of Hunt: Showdown, the game was officially released in 2019 for Windows and is now available for both PS4 and Xbox One. Over the years, HS has been able to garner a loyal following and nowadays has a pretty good active player base. The monthly average player count is mostly under 20k, and that’s for Steam alone. But like any other game, Hunt: Showdown has its own issues. Just recently, there was a ban wave that mostly targeted players using Huntstats.
For the uninitiated, Huntstats is a tracking app that is used by players to check their MMR and get major details like killed monsters, loots, mission timelines, and such. It’s a really helpful app for players who want to know everything there’s to know about their matches. Now, such features should already be in-game, but for some reason, Crytek hasn’t done anything about it. But now players are unjustly getting banned for using a simple tracking app. So, is there a fix? Continue reading to find out!
Hunt Showdown players are getting banned for using Huntstats tracking website: Is there any fix yet?
To be honest, you really can’t do much in this situation except appeal your ban. As suggested in this post, players should head over to the official EAC and Hunt: Showdown websites and appeal their ban. Be sure to explain your issue thoroughly and correctly so that support can help you without much issue.
Apart from this, we’ve also been seeing reports of the recent ban wave being lifted, and as a result, many players are already getting unbanned without even having to appeal their ban. However, if you are still somehow banned, we highly recommend you go ahead and appeal your ban.
Why the ban?
Crytek has shied away from even acknowledging the recent banwave, but the community already has some idea why the banwave was there in the first place. You see, the Huntstats app has to read your game logs in order to gather data. Now, for whatever reason, EAC might have flagged this as a false positive which resulted in the recent ban on players using the Huntstats app. The official Huntstats website has also mentioned many players getting unbanned, so it seems like Crytek is looking into this matter.
Should you keep using Huntstats?
Well, we can’t really give you a definitive answer to that. Crytek hasn’t officially announced using the app as a bannable offense, but with this recent incident, users are already wary of using it. Now, if you are okay with just enjoying the game and don’t care about MMR, graphs, and such, go ahead and play the game as it is. However, if you are interested in such things, you can still use Huntstats, but be aware of the risks. Although, there shouldn’t be any.
