Huawei Assistant and Smart Charge

Huawei has been proving itself ever since Google cut off its tie with the brand. Even with the lack of GMS and other Google apps, the brand continues to make its smartphone experience better for users. So far, the brand seems to be doing great. Huawei has also bee working on its own Harmony OS to possibly compete with Android in the near future. EMUI 10.1 brought a lot of cool new features including Huawei Assistant and Smart Charge. The good news is Huawei is also rolling out these features to many of its older devices now.

Earlier, the brand came up with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) to fill in the void created due to the lack of Google apps. They now also have their own app store, gallery, and a lot of other apps. Interestingly, the number of users on HMS is growing day by day although many people still prefer Google Apps. Huawei Assitant and Smart Charge are two of the most exciting features which debuted with EMUI 10.1. However, these features are now making their way to older devices with the latest EMUI 9.1 update. Devices as old as 2 years are also getting these features.

EMUI 10.1 update

“Celia”, Huawei’s new AI assistant makes things a whole lot better. Although not as mature as Google Assistant, its still pretty interesting. It can do a lot of things including smart reminders, personalized news, or whatever the user asks it to. Further, it comes with a much better UI than many other voice assistants out there.

Smart Charge uses AI algorithms to predict the usage and helps save some battery. It also automatically prevents the battery from continuous charging once the device is completely charged. That’s good, isn’t it? Further, the feature also reduces battery aging significantly.

  • Huawei Y9 Prime
  • Honor View 10
  • Huawei Nova 5T
  • Huawei P10 series
  • Huawei P30 Pro/Lite
  • Huawei P20 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Do mark that this list contains only those devices that have received the features with EMUI 9.1 along with a few devices which got the features with EMUI 10.1. Also, all those devices which got updates to EMUI 10.1 or will be updated in the feature will have these features.
