Down detector – a renowned service that gives details about live outages – also conveys that HSBC is indeed going through a glitch in some regions as can be seen in the image below:
Any official word on the matter? No, not yet. We’re not able to obtain a word from the official service channels or their social media handles.

HSBC replied to our tweet and has the following to say about the issues with HSBC servers:
Hi there, the issue has been escalated and teams are working on this with VISA. Mastercard is not affected. Please try using alternative payment methods for now, or keep trying unless it's successful. As soon as we have an update, I can inform you if wish. ^Mill
