How to Respec in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (TCM)?

Sumo Digital’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is now available on all major platforms except the Nintendo Switch. As you might have already guessed from the name, the game is based on the 1974 cult-classic movie of the same name by Tobe Hooper. Having only been released on August 18, 2023, there’s no doubt that there are areas of the game where players will need a lot of help. A major one is respec in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Respec essentially refers to reallocating skill points or changing the specialization of characters. By allowing players to respec their characters, a game encourages variety in player builds and the ability to think creatively. Blizzard’s latest release, Diablo 4, is one such game that allows players to respec their in-game character. When it comes to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, there certainly is a way to redistribute a character’s skill points. But how do you respec in the game? Well, this guide here will help you with all of that. By the time you finish reading this particular guide, you will have all the necessary information regarding this in-game mechanic.

How to Respec in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (TCM)?

Players can respec their characters in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre by going to each character’s ability tree or skill tree and then using a specific button on their input device. For mouse & keyboard users, it’s the “R” key; PlayStation users can do it by pressing the “Triangle” button; and lastly, Xbox players need to press the “Y” button on their controller.

By respecing, you will earn back every single point that you invested in a character’s skill tree. Now, you can customize a new build. Do note that, like previous builds, when you choose a specific skill branch, others will permanently close. The only way to try them out or include them in a build is to respec once again. Additionally, players can also respec the main ability tree if they want to do so.

Ideally, you should respec only when you have unlocked an entire skill path and tried it out. This way, you can find out if your current build is save-worthy or if you should reinvest your skill points. However, this is just a little suggestion from us, and in case you want to respec early, there’s no stopping you since doing a respec is free from the get-go.

Respecing is of great value in a game like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Of the currently available characters in the game, each and every one of them has loads of abilities or skill choices to choose from. Thanks to this particular feature, the game has given its players tons of freedom. That said, now you know how to respec characters in TCM.
