EA Sports‘ popular College Football series is back again, and the fans couldn’t be happier. After a long wait since the last title of the series, NCAA Football 14 (2013), College Football 25 is releasing on July 19, 2024 (currently available in early access for players who pre-ordered it). Players on the current-gen consoles, namely the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, can access this new title on their devices. However, the shocking revelation is that the game didn’t receive a PC port and that too in 2024, an era where PCs and handheld PCs are booming. PC gamers are, for all the right reasons, quite surprised by this. The search for some feasible option that allows players to enjoy the game on PC continues but to no avail. Since you’re here, we can assume that you’re looking for potential workarounds that allow you to play College Football 25 on PC as well. Continue reading this article till the end to find out all the details on the PC port of this title.
The College Football series from EA Sports, despite a few hiccups, has been an overall success. When EA Sports first announced College Football 25 back in 2021, it sparked excitement among the fans. This excitement, however, was short-lived. As the release date of College Football 25 approaches, players are left shocked by its console exclusivity. This is a decision that many couldn’t really fathom. And these players might be looking for ways to play College Football 25 on their PCs. So, is it possible to actually play the game on a PC? Let’s find out!
How to Play College Football 25 on PC?
The question of College Football 25 being available for players on PC is a disheartening one because the answer remains the same. Reddit user Cool-Dust5555 raised this issue, asking if there was a chance they could play the game on their PC. Of course, otherwise, it’d be a shame. Nobody wants to buy a console with the high prices of today just for the sake of one game. However, the pleas continue to go unnoticed by EA, and as things stand, there’s no chance PC players get to play this game on their devices.
However, there is, of course, a chance that EA will allow cloud gaming support in College Football 25. If that’s the case, then you’ll be able to play it on your PC using Game Pass. The catch, however, pretty much remains the same. You’d still need a controller and the network connectivity could mess with your experience. So, for a clear-cut PC version, it’s still “nada” from EA. Furthermore, as EA_Illium explained on the EA General Discussion forum, the game isn’t on Game Pass yet. So, there goes that option. You can, indeed, stream the game on your PC using the Xbox App or Remote Play on your PS5. However, note that it’s not a PC version; it is simply a stream from your Xbox console to your PC. You can’t save the game locally on your PC or anything like that.
Fans of the series haven’t taken this console-exclusivity in a good light. Of course, there are instances like that of Reddit user PrinceDizzy, who personally prefers the console experience for sports games. The reaction from Reddit user idrinkpellegrino, however, was more negative, as they claimed they’d unsubscribe to Game Pass if it doesn’t list College Football 25. Even on the EA General Discussion forum for College Football 25, the dissatisfaction of players is clearly visible. However, the officials still haven’t opened up about working on a PC version of CFB 25. So, we don’t suppose that’s on their cards as of now.
So, that’s about it if you want to play College Football 25 on your PC. Maybe if fan demand rises, then EA will rethink their stand? We can’t tell for sure and this is only speculation. So, make sure to take this with a pinch of salt. If there are further updates on the matter, we’ll make sure to update this article accordingly.
