How to mod Dragon ball Xenoverse 2 on Steam Deck

To mod Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on the Steam Deck, follow these step-by-step instructions:

  • Download Eternity’s Patcher: Begin by downloading Eternity’s Patcher, which is a crucial tool for enabling mods to work in Xenoverse 2. You can download it from here.
  • After downloading, extract the file and take a look at the files that you just extracted, as they will be needed in the next step.
  • Add dinput8.dll to the Xenoverse 2 Bin Folder: Inside the downloaded mod folder, find the one labeled “alternative dll” and inside this folder, you will be able to find the dinput8.dll file. Copy it to the game’s installation location.
  • Copy the XV2Patcher Folder: Now, copy the entire “XV2Patcher” folder that can be found in the extracted mod file to the root directory of the Xenoverse 2 folder on your Steam Deck. Be sure not to copy the folder labeled “bin”.
  • Modify Launch Options: After this, open the Steam client and navigate to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Right-click on the game and select “Properties”. In the General tab, click on “Set Launch Options…”. Add the following line: “WINEDLLOVERRIDES=”dinput8=n,b” %command%”.

Installing Mods: There are two methods for installing mods.

Using a Windows PC

Download the mods you want to install on a Windows PC. Copy the “data” folder containing the mod files to the root directory of the Xenoverse 2 folder on your Steam Deck.

Using Lutris on Steam Deck
  • Install Lutris on your Steam Deck.
  • Add the “xv2ins.exe” file as a local Wine game in Lutris.
  • Launch XV2 Installer from Lutris and install the mods directly onto your Steam Deck.

Installing Lazybone Installers (if needed)

If a mod requires Lazybone installers, follow these additional steps:

  • Ensure that the same Wine prefix used by XV2 Installer in Lutris is utilized.
  • Launch the Bash terminal by clicking on the arrow next to the play button in Lutris and selecting the option to launch the Bash terminal.
  • Navigate to the directory containing the Lazybone installer using the terminal with the “cd” command.
  • Execute the installer by typing “wine (name of the file).exe” in the terminal and pressing Enter.

Well, that is all for the modding process. Following these steps correctly should enable you to successfully mod Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on your Steam Deck. We hope this was helpful.
