It may be true that the game Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl has got a lot of things to boast about, but most of us will agree to the fact that we like these held items present in the game more than anything else. Is not it true?
While some held items increase the chances of getting a shiny Pokémon, some increase the chances of a critical catch. And then there is this Judge Function that lets you know about the stats of a Pokémon. Well, here is everything you need to know.
WHAT IS THE JUDGE FUNCTION IN POKÉMON BRILLIANT DIAMOND & SHINING PEARL?
The Judge Function is an unlockable function in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl that lets you view the Individual Values (IVs) of all the Pokémon in the game. You might be wondering about this Individual Value thing. Individual Values are the hidden numbers that let you know why one Pokémon of a species has better or worse stats than the other of the same species.
Keep in mind that this IV stuff tells you about the stats of the Pokémon of the same species only. And since IVs are hidden numbers, you need to have the Judge Function to view them.
Now, why is this Judge Function and viewing the IVs so necessary in the game? There is one simple reason. You will definitely need to check the stats of the Pokémon in your team and will want the Pokémon with the most desirable stats when you are in an online competitive battle against some other trainer. And hence you need the Judge Function to do so!
HOW TO UNLOCK THE JUDGE FUNCTION IN POKÉMON BRILLIANT DIAMOND & SHINING PEARL?
If you want to unlock the Judge Function in the game Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, here is what you have to do –
BECOME THE CHAMPION
The first thing that you need to do to unlock the Judge Function is to become the champion. For this, you have to defeat the Elite Four (Aaron, Bertha, Flint and Lucian) and the Sinnoh Pokémon League Champion Cynthia. Once you have done that, you will have your name registered in the Pokémon League Hall of Fame and will be one step closer to unlocking the Judge Function.
HEAD TO THE FIGHT AREA
After defeating the Elite Four and the Sinnoh Pokémon League Champion Cynthia and becoming the champion, you have to head to the Snowpoint City docks and then talk to the sailor at the port to ride the boat to the Fight Area. Here is an even better idea. If you have been to the Fight Area before any time in the game, you can use Fly to get there even quicker.
HEAD TO THE BATTLE TOWER
Once you have reached the Fight Area, you have to enter the building to the northeast and pass straight through Battle Park to reach the Battle Tower.
TALK TO THE MAN NEAR THE PC
Once you are inside the Battle Tower, you have to go and talk to the man beside the east wall of the room near the PC you see on your screen. Once you have talked to him, you will have the Judge Function in your Pokémon Boxes.
HOW TO CHECK THE IVs IN THE GAME?
Here are the methods using which you can check the Individual Values or the IVs of the Pokémon in the game –
OPEN THE POKÉMON BOXES
To check the IVs of a Pokémon, the first thing you have to do is open the Pokémon boxes. You can open the Pokémon boxes by going to any PC or simply by pressing the R button while you are on the Pokémon Party Screen.
PRESS THE + AND – BUTTONS TWICE
If you do not want to do the PC stuff, there is one more method to check the IVs of the Pokémon. You can take your pointer over any Pokémon in your boxes or party and then press the + or – buttons to view its stats. That’s not all. You have to press the + and – buttons once again to view the Pokémon’s IVs on the right side of the screen.
