One of the best parts of the game is that you have these held items that can help you in making the game more interesting. Two of such held items are the Catching Charm and the DS Sounds. Here is everything you need to know –
WHAT IS THE CATCHING CHARM AND WHY DO YOU NEED IT?
The Catching Charm is a held item in the game Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl that you can use to increase your chances of critical catches in the game. And this increase in chances will be permanent. You might be wondering, what is a critical capture?
In the game, players usually wait first for three shakes and then the yellow light to confirm the capture of a Pokémon. But, when you see the Poké Ball shake in the air, fall on the ground and then shake once, it means that a Pokémon has been instantly captured. And this is a critical capture.
Well, such a thing is pretty rare, but you can increase your chances of a critical catch once you own the Catching Charm.
HOW TO OBTAIN THE CATCHING CHARM?
This Catching charm can be obtained once you complete the Sinnoh Pokédex. This means that you have to see and capture 149 Pokémon in the game. To get the catching charm, you need to return to the Hotel Grand Resort at Valor Lakefront. You can either Fly to Pastoria City or Veilstone City and then make your way along Route 213 or Route 214 to reach it.
Once you reach Valor Lakefront, you need to enter the building that is at the top of the resort. It is the only accommodation that has a swimming pool outside of it, and this will make locating it easier.
In the building, you will find a lot of NPCs out of which two will be the Game Directors. One will be a Gengar-loving director and the other will be a Psyduck-loving director. You will have to interact with the Gengar-loving director, who after congratulating you will reward you with two things – the Shiny Charm and the Catching Charm.
Once you obtain the catching charm, it will appear in the Key Items Pocket in your Bag. And you will not have to do anything to activate it. And it will be permanent. If you look at the description of this item, it reads, “Holding it is said to increase the chance of getting a critical catch. Curiously, the charm does not shake much.”
WHAT ARE THE DS SOUNDS IN POKÉMON BRILLIANT DIAMOND & SHINING PEARL AND HOW TO GET THEM?
The DS Sounds in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl is not any item that can fetch you some Pokémon or any ability to catch a Pokémon. If you have the DS Sounds item in the game, you will be able to listen to the original music of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
The best part is that you can listen to the music including buildings, the Grand Underground, inside the cave, during the battles and many more!
To obtain the DS Sounds, you have to beat Cynthia and become the champion. Once you do so, a guitarist located in the far left of Hotel Grand Lake present in route 213 will give you the DS Sounds!
