How to fix screen flicker in PS5?
If you’re seeing screen flickering when booting up your PlayStation 5, you’re not the only one as multiple users have confirmed that they’re getting this error as well. We have listed several workarounds that you can try to get rid of the flickering. Here are some of the steps you can try to remedy the problem.
Try a new HDMI cable.
If you’re getting the screen flickering on your PS5, there’s a good chance the cable is broken or damaged. You can try a new HDMI cable to see if the flickering is still present or even try plugging into other monitors or TVs to see if there’s no issue with your TV. If you’re still getting the error trying this method then see another solution we’ve mentioned below.
Change video settings in PS5
To fix the flickering on your Playstation 5, you can head to the “Settings” menu on the upper right side of the screen. Navigate the options until you see “Screen and Video”, select it and under the “Video Output” option, and select “Resolution”, you can try changing resolution and see if it fixes the problem. Set the resolution to “Automatic” and under the “4K Video Transfer Rate” and select -1 or -2 to limit the transfer rate to see if it helps.
Change the HDMI settings
If the abovementioned workarounds don’t fix the flickering, you can also try to change the HDMI settings in the console. Follow the necessary steps to do so.
- Under the “Settings” option of PlayStation 5, go to “System” and scroll down to “HDMI”
- Scroll down until you see “Enable HDCP” and turn it OFF.
If you have a black screen, flickering issue, or any kind of screen issue, enabling this option will fix most of the issues.
