For many PlayStation 5 gamers, switching on the console has been a different experience, and not for good reasons. This is because the console, upon getting switched on, has no display, but the console displays a Blue Light. To fix this error, the very first thing for players to do is to switch off the PlayStation 5. Locate the power button in your PS5 (on the bottom left side.) Now players need to hold the power button for some time. Upon holding it, they would hear one beep. This would be followed by another beep. As a result, the PlayStation 5 would henceforth switch off.
Now, to start the PlayStation 5, hold the power button and wait for the beep. As the first beep goes on, wait till the second beep comes out. Henceforth, the second beep ensures the PlayStation 5 launching the Safe Mode. Gamers need to connect their DualShock 5 (PS5 controller) using a USB cable. Upon connection, press the PS button. This would bring a range of options such as
- Restart PS5
- Change Video Output
- Update System Software
From here, we need to choose Change Video Output > Change Resolution. This can be due to problems between the default resolution and the PS5. Keep resolution to automatic. Then come back and this time, choose Change HDCP Mode and keep it at HDCP 1.4 Only. Another efficient way of solving the error is Updating System Software from the internet and update your PS5. Players can also go for Clear Cache and Rebuild Database. Clear system software cache and then rebuild the database. If the problems continue to persist, an effective method is to reset the PS5. This will delete all the data in your PS5 and set it for factory reset.
These are some ways you can look out for solving the PS5 Blue Light of Death error.
