Nintendo eShop not available error

Just like any other gaming console, Nintendo Switch is not perfect. That is why various errors come out. Some of them are related to payments, servers, or storage. The error code 2005-0003 is a storage-related error. This article will help you to fix this issue.

Players have received this error when they have unintentionally tampered with the storage device. The error can be due to the two underlying reasons –

  • Removing SD card while downloading content
  • Faulty SD card

Error Code 2005-0003 Fixes

The fix to this error is quite simple. Before proceeding on to the solutions, ensure that you have the latest firmware installed on your Switch. This can get rid of the error for you. Now, the steps that you can perform to eradicate the error 2005-0003 are as follows.

Perform a Power cycle

A full power cycle can help you a lot. It can efficiently refresh the system memory. Doing this also removes cache files clogging the memory and also removes unknown bugs. Press and hold down the power button for three seconds. Now, select Power options and then click on Restart.

Issues regarding SD card

If the above process does not work, the issue is mainly due to the MicroSD card that you are using. You can try one of the tips mentioned below:

  • Try a different microSD card. Sometimes, the prolonged use of an SD card creates bad sectors in the memory. Insert a different SD card to see if the problem persists.
  • Formatting the SD card is also an option to explore. It might happen that the second SD card you just inserted is working fine but you want to use the first one. Format the former microSD card and try again.
  • You can also try and use the system memory. Remove the SD card from the console. Now, download the game onto the system memory. If the software works fine, then use the system memory for the time being. In the meantime, purchase a different SD card for use with the Switch.

The above processes will help you to fix the error code 2005-0003. Unfortunately, if you still encounter the error, you should get your console repaired. You can book a repair service from Nintendo Support here.
