But, before we get into the fixes, let’s have a look at what causes the Nintendo Switch Blue Screen of Death.

There are a variety of causes for the Blue Screen of Death, some of which are simple while the others are a bit difficult to resolve.

Absence of Corner Bond

The lack of Corner Bond is one of the most common causes cited by many users. Your Nintendo Switch may have been frail due to the lack of Corner Bond, resulting in a Blue Screen of Death.

Unnecessary files on the console

Another cause of this problem is the presence of some potentially malicious files on your Nintendo. You may have heard that hard resetting the Nintendo Switch can fix the problem.

How to fix the Nintendo Switch blue screen of death

Let’s now dive deeper and have a look at the fixes for the Blue Screen issue on Nintendo Switch:

Step 1: Restart your Nintendo Switch

If you’re having a tiny problem with your switch and it’s nothing major, you might be able to solve it right away by restarting it.

To restart your Nintendo Switch, press and hold the Power button for roughly 12 seconds, then power it on again by pressing and holding the Power button.

Step 2: Hard reset your console

If the issue is still not solved then we recommend you try hard resetting your console. To do so follow the steps below:

  • Simply turn off your switch by pressing and holding the Power Button for 12 seconds.
  • Hold both the volume up(+) and volume down(-) buttons while pressing the Power button to turn it back on after it has been successfully shut down.
  • Keep the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons pressed until your device enters recovery mode.
  • Lastly, select “Initialize Console Without Deleting Save Data” from the drop-down menu.

Remember, that selecting the “Restore Factory Settings” option will delete all your data except the saved ones.

Step 3: Drain the battery of your Nintendo Switch

If the problem persists, try emptying the battery on your Switch and then charging it again. This could be the solution to your problem.

Step 4: Delete everything from Nintendo Switch

The last fix that remains for you to try is to delete everything from your Nintendo Switch including your data and games. To do so follow the steps given below:

  • First, shut down your switch by holding the Power Button for 12 seconds.
  • After successfully shutting it down hold both volumes up(+) and volume down(-) button and press the Power button to turn it ON.
  • Hold down the Volume up and Volume down button until your device enters the recovery mode.
  • Now select the option “Initialize Console”.
